I somehow disagree with this your school of taught. LP as a party is quite different from APC and PDP specifically. LP of old may be having same modus operandi of the two leading parties in the past. But presently, since the take-over of LP by NLC, the organigram is now different.

The major stakeholders of LP is the NLC and NWC; please take note of this. The party is specifically and 100% owned by NLC. Unlike other political parties wherein before a decision is reached, NEC and NWC—of which every member of the both bodies are politicians —must first meet before taking any decision. In the case of LP, the NLC and NWC are the decision makers. Meaning, NWC members are politicians, while that of the NLC are workers. This makes LP to be the only party that can be trusted, which is capable of steering Nigeria out of the extinction that the country is gradually going into currently.

Since, the NLC president is a major stakeholder, it will be unwise for the 2 decision-making body's leaders to come from the same region of the country.

So, to some extent, that your conspiracy theory will not be applicable to Wike, if for example he decided to join force with LP or support its president candidate for the next general election. And there's nothing hypocritical about him on that.

NEC will still endorse Ayu.
