What's The Most Developed State In Nigeria? by Afam4eva(m): 8:01am On Aug 22, 2011 |
Which states in Nigeria are the most developed in terms of infrastructures. I have no doubt in my mind that Lagos, Anambra, Delta take the lead in this regard. What do you think. |
Re: What's The Most Developed State In Nigeria? by Afam4eva(m): 8:02am On Aug 22, 2011 |
I meant Nigeria. Mods pls help me modify the title as I'm using a mobile phone. |

You need to remove delta from the list. Their numerous oil wells does not and have not translate to any infrastructural development. 1 Like |

When I think of Delta, my mind goesd to Asaba, Warri, Sapele and other mini-cities. Delta is the only state where almost every local government has a stadium, courtesy James Ibori. |

I think Rivers should make the list. |
Re: What's The Most Developed State In Nigeria? by Afam4eva(m): 9:20am On Aug 22, 2011 |
@mbatuku I thought so too. But Port-hacourt see to be the only well developed city in that state. Rivers state is not just about PH. We have Okrika, Ogoni, Ahoada, Ndoni etc. |

Ogun state is it. 1 Like |

Ogun state is in the same category with Rivers. Even though PH is more developed than Abeokuta. I still think Ogun has an edge because it has ijebu-ode, Sango and Sagamu which are relatively developed. |

Lagos > Anambra > Delta > Ogun > Rivers |
Re: What's The Most Developed State In Nigeria? by Afam4eva(m): 9:47am On Aug 22, 2011 |
Rivers should not be there. I don't like one-city states like Rivers, Cross river, Enugu. |
Re: What's The Most Developed State In Nigeria? by AndreUweh(m): 9:47am On Aug 22, 2011 |
afam4eva:Rivers state will be like any other state in Nigeria minus Port Harcourt. Ogun is still the in thing followed by Anambra state. |
Re: What's The Most Developed State In Nigeria? by Afam4eva(m): 9:52am On Aug 22, 2011 |
No brother, Anambra is second only to Lagos. With cities like Onitsha, Nnewi, Awka what else can you ask for. Abia sef try. With Aba and Umuahia. |
Re: What's The Most Developed State In Nigeria? by AndreUweh(m): 9:53am On Aug 22, 2011 |
afam4eva:Enugu is not a one-city state, though you hail from Enugu state. Coming from Awgu-Enugu-9th mile- Nsukka-Obollo-Afor will highlight to you the level of development in that state courtesy of sheer individual or communal efforts. |
Re: What's The Most Developed State In Nigeria? by Afam4eva(m): 9:54am On Aug 22, 2011 |
I'm talking of developed towns not highways. Apart from Enugu, where else deserved been called a city? Is it Nsukka? We know why Nsukka is popular. |
Re: What's The Most Developed State In Nigeria? by AndreUweh(m): 9:58am On Aug 22, 2011 |
afam4eva:Who is talking of highways?. Enugu sons and daughters have done a lot towards the development of the places I mentioned. I have seen what is on the ground and more to accomplished. Those people are great. |

You cannot list enugu as developed because apart from Enugu city, Nsukka and 'dead' Oji, there's really nothing in Enugu state. Anambra is second only to Lagos because almost all the cities are developed. You need to visit Onitsha, Nkpor, Obosi, Nnewi, Awka, Amawbia, Enugwu-Ukwu, Nnawfia, Agulu, Ekwulobia, Nsugbe, Ihiala, Nnobi, Umunze, etc. |

My point exactly. |

afam4eva: Actually, you have a good valid point but it seems as if Delta has presently gone to the dogs (politicians) |

cnario: This is true of Anambra, well developed. Its only lagos that can top Anambra in Nigeria. With the coming on stream of the Onitsha port, International cargo airport, Orient petroleum/oil refinery, Anambra is set to give lagos fight of its life. Anambra is a major destination |

ronkebp:I said "the most developed state" and not city. Jos is a city. How many cities can kano boast of apart from the capital(Kano city). |
Re: What's The Most Developed State In Nigeria? by Yeske2(m): 5:32pm On Aug 22, 2011 |
No doubt, Anambra comes after Lagos with its numerous towns and cities which are all developed. |

Yeske!: Prove him wrong on what?!! Did u even see the part of his post I highlighted or are browsing with 3310? Im from anambra too and I quite agree that anambra might be second to only lagos in development BUT the part I highlighted remains part of propaganda from the GIP. |

Purchasing Power Parity Rank State GDP in 2007 (PPP$) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Nigerian_states_by_GDP This is as close as it gets. Purchasing Power Parity (PPP) is an a fairly accurate measure of the amount that business and private enterprise generates in each state. We need to bring in things like United Nations HDI measurements to complete the picture. |

Re: What's The Most Developed State In Nigeria? by kizito96(m): 6:34pm On Aug 22, 2011 |
It should be Lagos Abuja Portharcourt |
Re: What's The Most Developed State In Nigeria? by Afam4eva(m): 6:36pm On Aug 22, 2011 |
kizito96: Port-hacourt is not a state for crying out loud. Why do Nigerians lack simple comprehension. My purpose for opening this thread is to know which states have relatively even level of development and not which states have the best or most beautiful state capitals. 1 Like 1 Share |
