This is the best time to be a Nigerian. With Tinubu as President next year, before the end of his first tenure, plenty Nigerians who JAPAed will regret their move..

Even if there was oil in the north ...you need the oil to be 3 times the oil in the Niger Delta region for it to make economic sense drilling the oil honestly

From my analysis it would take 15 billion dollars to build pipeline to transport oil from the north east basin to the ocean in calabar ...or at best ebonyi so you can then use the calabar river to move them

So you need at least 1 million barrels per day production for like 20 years to make such investment worth it

People would say build module refinery ? They are hardly profitable

.well let's watch n see
Who needs your kindergarten analysis? Nonsense! Is there anything they do that makes you happy so far it is about north, Buhari or Tinubu? What do you know about economic sense, that you never applied the same sense to your biafra region? Monday-monday Ipob enforcement is there, you never applied your economic sense to stop disruption of economic activities going on. Ipob/esn is destroying everything including key infrastructures in biafra land with hope that when they get biafra, they will rebuild back the infrastructure since they have oil; your honourable in reverse order never applied your economic sense here to stop Ipob/esn 3D-foolishness, but you are here preaching economic sense when deep down in you you don't like progress going on in the north since the report is not about Arochukwu or Nnewi.

Continue, some of us can not be fooled by your deceit. Nigeria is for all, every region should grow, but those who think their own economic sense is to first destroy their human and physical infrastructure in their midst can also continue since they refused to download free common sense to upgrade their kanu infected brains of thinking in reverse order. At least with this, the noise of "our oil,... blah, blah.." will reduce

Must they export the oil in the north via the ocean? The oil can serve the oil demands of the north instead of tankers moving it from the south. More so, it can be exported via Chad or Niger.

Your comment is motivated by Bad belle and nothing else
Why 3 times why not 300 times ? Where did you get that nonsense from Oil is oil and it does not have to be exported . It can all be refined and used within Nigeria

It will make economic sense IF IT IS TRUE

By your calculation

What stupid calculation?

Why must oil be exported? Why can't it be refined and used in the North or across Nigeria?

Why should they build modular refinery when such is not genuinely support in the south? The oil should be transported to the south for refining .

Well oil can be transported through tankers to the refining point and we have Kaduna refinery as the nearest to this fields. Maybe this will make the govt to make the refinery work.

What we know so far:

1. Crude oil and gas has been discovered in commercial quantity in those two fields and others yet to commence.

2. NNPC ltd has, as part of PIA the needed room to push for the exploration of these resources.

3. Govts has acknowledged putting in place measures to ensure scenarios for on the ND do not repeat themselves.

4. Its said those fields hold more gas deposits than crude oil (which is in excess of a billion barrels, no figures for gas yet).

5. Nigeria is championing building of a trans saharan gas pipeline to Europe, this will be a significant factor and advantage to this project.

Its hopefully going to be 4 decades of devt now for the north and Nigeria.
For where?
What of the pipes project they intend to construct all the way to Algeria. (This is what the report is referring to).

Unless the oil meets the requirements of Kaduna refinery even at that it's still very far from it and would cost 5 billion dollars minimum to link up

Most time, the government chooses the regime that would make them not to pay a penny until exploration.
