This is the Oil Prospecting Lease (OPL) 810, the Kolmani oil field site, located in Gombe/Bauchi States.

The first oil drilling in the Northeastern part of this country is taking place today, at the Oil Prospecting Lease (OPL) 809 and 810 at the Kolmani oil field site located in Bauchi and Gombe States.

The first oil field in the northern part of the country.

Thank you, Baba Buhari!!

Maybe the North will finally allow the country to divide, since they now have their own oil.

Ibkhaleel01:
Hausa people have Sokoto, Zamfara, Kano, Kaduna, Bauchi, Jagawa, Katsina and others states, but they never produced Nigeria's president, never insist on it and never threaten to destroy Nigeria if not given the presidency.

Igbo have five small states which, combined, are less one of the states of Hausa people, and these tiny Igbo state have less resources than a single Hausa state, but the Igbo are threatening Nigeria to be given the presidency despite twice producing presidents.

I am not amazed by this selfishishness. What amazes me is that that there are few Hausas who claim Igbos deserve to be given presidency for the third time while they who are bigger and having more resources did not produce the president once.

Why this foolishness of these Hausa people? It is unreasonable fear of the threat of the Igbo. Well, let me tell this: let the Igbo start war. We will not make an Igbo a president just because they are threatening war. Their claim to it is unjust and based on lies. The Hausa who have never produced one deserve it not the Igbo that had president twice. No one should be afraid of unjust people.

You are so shameless.

Me I don't preach North or South but your mentioned of derivativion is flawed, because if we were practicing true federalism most of the states up north won't get half what you are currently getting. Yes there are alot potential up which are not being tapped right now because of easy money from the south.

You still did all these you term as achievement with oil money despite the fact you didn't have oil then, no state in this country can survive without oil money except maybe Lagos,

The fact still remained that North and Northerners benefited from oil money in this country more than the most southern States.

Why oil in the north?? We want to maintain the Right to keep calling the north poor, backward and a desert...

The cosmic law has it's own way of maintaining balance to the universe...

The north shall rise...

The north shall grow...

And the north shall be stronger than ever before!

No amount of Hate can stop the north!!
Maybe this will pave the way for true restructuring of the country, anyway restructure is the reason I am voting for atiku because he is the only candidate that speaks my language. Plus oil is not the future, renewable energy is the future we are still lacking behind.

Nope.

They still have to export the oil...and a united Nigeria means that they won't pay something called transit fees to export their oil.

Every landlocked country with oil or gas has to pay transit fees to the country though which the pipeline passes. (Sudan was charging $32 per barrel of oil for every barrel of South sudan oil that passed their land one time).

Nigeria is a contraption, as are most African countries. If it divides today, I prolly won't lose sleep. But the truth is, there are benefits from being in the contraption. The North needs free export route, the South needs Northern food and grains. Plus, where are we going to divide the nation. (Biafra if we follow the old division is also a british made contraption.)

Nice, but who owns this Kolmani Oilfield we are talking about?
Is it the State,or Federal Govt or Joint Oil- Explorations of other Companies? Who are they?
How far is it from the other Oil Pipeline,so as to access it's viability for future production?
Nigeria is a great Country,if we all allowed -justice fairness, equity and love amongst the Nigerians by those in authority because many times those in authority do practice- tribalism, ethnicity and sow wickedness, just to make Nigeria difficult and this should not be!
Nigerians are looking forward to its blossomness!
Goodluck!
