For every recovered stolen vehicle, they should also write the name and state of origin of the thief.

In 6 months, it would look like Ohaneze membership list.

The digitalization of the CMR is complete with 2 Command Centres in Abuja and Lagos, 37 CMR Information Centres across the Country and in the Federal Capital Territory, 200 e-Enforcement Operational Patrol Vehicles with automatic number plate recognition on each vehicle as part of the first batch.

Great idea, the IGP is doing well, this is how policing should be in 21st century

So many times, we erroneously think that digitalising processes and using computers in Nigerian civil service automatically makes things better. The fact is that it doesn't necessarily. Put the best computers in the world in the hands of the police and civil service, you will still get inefficiency. Why? They have a very bad mentality and attitude. One that is borne out of the fact they don't have deliverables and there are no sanctions for not delivering. At the end of every month, civil servants always get paid no what they do or don't do. The right attitude and mentality without computers is better than that computers with the wrong attitude

IBB once asked "why is it that what works in other countries doesn't work in Nigeria"?

Tracking of phones and terrorist cannot be achieved. They want to track track cars.

Jinxed people. Watch how they will turn it into another avenue to start taking bribes and charging citizens before they can report or help them track their stolen vehicles.

Somebody tell the IGP to go serve his jail term please.

I wish you read the presser where you would have seen where the portal will prevent stolen cars from being re-registered.
Not tracked!

Very, very commendable.
But I sure hope facilities/provisions are in place for each police unit/formation to access the portal too.
Someone I know had his car stolen in one state and was recovered in another state without the police in the state where the car was stolen from being notified nor aware of the recovery.
Imagine reporting your car stolen, doing a police report and the same car recovered and lying waste in a neighboring state without the knowledge of the police that the said car is a reported stolen car.

Hmmmm, and SAS was very good in tracking lost/stolen phones ooo! Heard so many tales of people who got into trouble with SAS for buying lost/stolen phones via tracking.
I wonder why the tracking of notorious criminals via their phone is now proving difficult.

This is good, it also helps potential buyers with investigation on whether the car they are about to buy is legit or stolen.
