Simple. Everything and everyone needs protection and regulation in a progressive society seeking to work for all her citizens.

Why should Arise, like a criminal enterprise, be trying to film what they have no emission to?

Some will even encourage them to break into homes and plant doctored 'evidence' since that is always correct if done against those some Nigerians dislike never mind that they have rights and deserve fairness as should be the case always with civilized nations.

I don't like it when people are bias or partial with their opinions especially politically. We, Nigerians are hypocrites, I hope the level of criticism thrown at Tinubu is also thrown at Atiku. Everything about Tinubu makes news headlines and the next thing is "destructive" criticism, what about other contestants?, or are you telling those ones including Peter Obi are saints? We never see anything yet in this country in as much we aren't smart yet.

The journalist didn't do anything wrong. The station might not have been invited, but the person on site was, if they were on the street, you don't have no right to chase them away, especially a commercial building or area. Moreover they are accredited. They can do non judicial investigations.

Tinubu and his campaign are funny, can you imagine a presidential candidate that wouldn't want an A-Class Tv station like Arise to stream it's campaign events?
If you don't know the reason let me explain. Tinubu is not really in charge of his mental faculties as he used to be when most of you knew him as Governor. Age and long use of drugs has battered his brain. So his campaign tend to manage him.
Allowing Arise TV to stream his event (even for free) is too dangerous. Arise TV will never allow his campaign edit out some portion of video they don't want you to see. That is why Tinubu avoids them and goes for friendly and compliant stations.

Shee na by force make you publicise someone's campaign? Tinubu people day they don't want you to help them project their events you are crying. Why can't they go and project their candidate Obi after all Rufai Oseni had insinuated severally that Tinubu didn't attend Chicago State University. Didn't Tinubu say so that he is the most marketable Presidential candidate? Now they are running around craving for Tinubus attention.

Media houses are bias all around the world. That does not justify muzzling them or preventing them for carrying out their constitutional duties. Fox news is anti Biden, that does not give Biden or the democrats the rights to ban them from their events. Trump attempted to ban CNN from the white House, but the courts told him he can't.

I see so much ignorance on this thread. If you want a media company to cover your event you invite and pay them. Depending on the type of event a media company can charge you as much as millions of naira to cover your event. That's where they make their money. Even interviews are paid for.
On this particular incident, Arisetv wasn't invited nor authorized as one of the media companies to cover the event. Why steal in like a thief in the night?

ALL Media houses get clearance for the Press Unit to cover an event.
This is a well known standard protocols all over the world.

You can't just gate-crashed into an event uninvited without anyone giving you clearance and start videoing , you could even be arrested for security breaches .

Public figures have been assassinated by assassins posing as press men covering the events.
