We need to fix the power problems of This country ASAP.......I love the realistic analysis of Peter obi at the Chanttam house presentation.....We have to start from somewhere and that somewhere is definitely transmission.....Peter obi really nailed it by going to exactly where the problem is......Not just giving bogus promises like other politicians......Peter obi said if we can wheel out 7500MW by end of 2023 then it's a good start and that's the way forward.......Peter obi understands the issues and he knows the solutions .......I only pray God touches his heart not to be possessed by the demons working against Nigeria when he gets to power because he is already our next president smiley kiss kiss

Same Peter Obi that claimed Siemens was not working and that the FG had not signed anything with Siemens only for him to go to Chatham house and admit that he would utilize the FG/Siemens power project to achieve a power generation of 7000MW without knowing that Nigeria is already generating 22,000 MW and now working on transmition.

Obi is a fraud in HD. Besides Asiwaju has already moved beyond 22000MW. We are now talking gigawatts and Precisely 9 gigawatts which we would be able to even sell across border.

Unfortunately, nobody will change anything... An average polithiefcian in Nigeria is just desperate to get the power and once that's achieved, the tune changes along with the dance steps and then we start looking forward to the end of their 8 years again undecided

BTW, the cause of death sounds somehow! There's no gen in the hospital or what? How did the hospital keep him with them without referring him to another hospital, for 24 hours, when they had no light?

I guess you live in Jupiter not to have noticed the fuel scarcity. It is a chain reaction.

Pharmacist Placed On Oxygen Support In Hospital Dies Due To Prolonged Power Outage

A Nigerian pharmacist on Twitter has shared the sad story of how his colleague who was on life support passed on after the hospital suffered a power outage for more than 24 hours, IGBERETV reports.

The pharmacist with the handle @subpharmacist said the deceased was involved in an accident and had a blood clot in his braid. He said the deceased was placed on oxygen but died due to the prolonged loss of electricity supply.

We should vote wisely for someone that would put on the generator.

Nonsense lies from obidients.

Which hospital is that in Nigeria that doesn't have Gen? It's a make up story.

What is the name of the hospital and where?

Mention the name of the person involved in the accident.

If they take Power and you sat down there watching your friend on oxygen and you didn't move him to another with Gen.

Nonsense topic, call Pita Obi to put on generator for you.

There are some medical gas systems that run on elect. If there is no power to supply at the patient's bed, there could be wahala. But one would think a normal hospital that has been in business in Nigeria would have thought of the risks power outage could cause and taken several steps to mitigate them. It is well jare....may we not be sick in Nigeria.

grin grin grin you are partially correct but all the same, they belong to the same party, he called himself the party leader, he was the anchor man that sold Buhari to some dumb Nigerians and he never for once condemned Buhari's faulty policies for 8 solid good years , in fact he was even supporting him and telling Nigerians that Bihari has done very very well and that he also will continue in the footsteps of buahri, you see now that na from fry pan to fire be dat.

on the issue of the Lagos state revolution, I think you should get ur facts right, don't let people be deceive you that tinubu did anything special in Lagos during his terms as governor that was how they sold Buhari to you all and many of you didn't take time to verify the facts., please Lagos state had been a federal capital for years and the federal government had developed Lagos to be the business and commercial nerve center of Nigeria and even west Africa, so lagos was already developed by the time tinubu became governor.

secondly, ask anyone who was old and mature enough at the time tinubu was governor of Lagos state, the only thing he did was to win people's hearts, the evolution of Lagos into a mega city and the transformation you are seeing today actually started with fashola , it was even Fashola progress and the fact that people started hailing him more than tinubu that caused their rift which nearly cost fashla his second term ticket if not for the intervention of the oba of Lagos then and well-meaning lagosians you can verify this fact ,
ambode followed the footsteps of Fashola and likewise, sanwo is doing very very well. despite the fact that i don't like APC i will always commend their state governors who are doing very well, Dapo abiodun of Ogun state too is doing well. tinubu may be credited for bringing in and installing good governors after him but during his tenure, there was limited progress because obj never allowed him to rest .

From your last line you said he didn't do much coz OBJ never allowed to rest but he still went ahead to get things in order and I believe those working governors a using the legacy he had laid down and it's working for them...

It’s a pity a government owned hospital doesn’t have a backup generator Incase of emergency, if you can’t afford a good specialist hospital in Nigeria (cedarcrest, Kelina and the rest ) or funds to travel abroad for medical then you will know how fvcked our government hospitals are . May Nigeria not happen to us but we can change this prayer point By voting in Obidatti . May his soul rest in peace

When we say "may Nigeria not happen to us", what we really mean is may the laziness of the black man not happen to is.

It's laziness on the part of the hospital or negligence for not planning adequately in power outage situations as it concerns emergencies....

Kobonaire4:
Basic problem with power is simple.

It is not getting the money it needs to function well.

At the end of the day, the power sector is severely underfunded because

1.Government sets their prices.

2.Average Nigerians do not pay power bills because it is too high.

Infact, many of the people shouting about this case are part of the pharmacist dying, because they do not pay power bills, or use power illegally. When we don't pay bills, the power companies do not have money to do nothing...and infact three of them have gone bankrupt and been taken over by their creditors.

Yet, on this site, Nigerians come here to praise people like a customs officer who chased away DISCO workers who were disconnecting his light for no payment. Such people are heroes. Meanwhile, the DISCOS cannot make a profit, and the GENCOS do not have cash to pay for gas. And there is no money and no investment in our power secotor.

All because we want cheap power.

Even the hospitals. Government hospitals are poorly run because of low fees, low this and low that

I still blame the APC government for not earning enough money, but the fact is, things like power and healthcare are not cheap. Demanding for cheap stuff is what got us here.
I see! . . . Everything should be high because we have a booming economy with plenty of jobs everywhere. Good salary too.
13 unit for prepaid meter is now 1k as against 16+ unit that was sold before. In fact, the light that they increased the fee is now horrible here.
We only get to see light in the night. I pity those on estimated bill.

So, go through the sh*t you wrote again. angry

An emergency patient. Find out if the hospital has Gen? Are you for real? Do you even know the meaning of emergency? I doubt

I've come to realize that 80% of people on nairaland are foolish.

It's only on nairaland that someone would just wake up and throw one fake storyline or news and everybody will start talking rubbish.

So far, nobody is asking basic questions rather they're posting may Nigeria not happen to you.

We need to ask questions like:

What is the name of the hospital?

Where's the hospital?

Is it government or private hospital?

In which state of the federation?

What is the name of your friend and from where? If possible support with pictures if he's not a mischievous liar like his fellow Obi supporters.

When you observed there was no power, why didn't you take your friend to another hospital?

This is fake story by an obidient who has the mindset that everything that happens is Buhari and Buhari, forgetting that his state governor has a role to play in his state.

I insist it's the work of a mischief maker and no such emergency.
