Atiku: What I Will Do Differently To Put Nigeria’s Economy On Right Path by OddsDoc(f): 10:14pm On Jan 30, 2023
The Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Atiku Abubakar, has outlined a number of initiatives he intends to put in place to set Nigeria’s economy on the path of growth if given the mandate to preside over the nation’s affairs.

Atiku said this in a written response to last week‘s decision by Moody’s Investors Service (The Moody’s) to downgrade the Nigerian Government’s Credit Rating from B3 to Caa1 which he described as “a very significant downgrade.”

The PDP candidate’s written response was made available to Vanguard, by his Media Office, in Abuja, late on Monday.

Atiku said, “If given the opportunity to lead the country, I will act differently and change the economic direction of Nigeria for the better. I will undertake far-reaching fiscal restructuring to improve liquidity and the management of our fiscal resources.

“Among others, I will undertake an immediate review of government spending with a view to eliminating all leakages arising from subsidy payments.

“Second, I will stop all fiscal support to ailing and under-performing State-Owned enterprises.

“Third, I will take steps to improve spending efficiency by gradual reduction of government recurrent expenditures.

“Fourth, I will undertake a review of government procurement processes to ensure value-for-money and eliminate all leakages.

“Finally, I will focus on non-debt financing by promoting a private sector-led Infrastructure Development Fund for the financing and delivery of key infrastructure projects.“

He earlier noted that Moody’s decision which wasn’t unexpected brought to the fore the FGN’s deteriorating fiscal and debt position and its lack of capacity to respond to same; it notes the ‘exacerbating policy trading-off’ between debt servicing and the financing of critical sectors, including education, health, and other social programmes.

“It also notes the government’s inability to curtail its addiction to deficit financing and its appetite for more funds from the Central Bank’s Ways and Means.

“All three observations are a direct indictment of the country’s political leadership for its failures in the management of our fiscal resources.

“The APC-led government lacks the critical competencies to initiate and implement innovative solutions to our problems and deliver on their mandate with the desired impact.“

What brain? Hope you're not as dull or as deceptive as Atiku. Intellectual and informed observers do not want to hear crap about fiscal this and fiscal that regarding governance post Buhari.

We are tired of that Bullcrap from empty barrels like Atiku with zero history of exemplary solutions provision in comparison to Tinubu with the most loaded CV of any Nigerian political leader.

Don't forget Atiku has had chances to do a lot since leaving office in 2007 yet he prefers to live in Dubai to then show up every four years demanding we make him President.

Contrast with Tinubu who left office same time as Atiku yet has gone on to do so much for his SW jurisdiction and Nigeria. ACN, under Tinubu, was Nigeria's official opposition by 2013 while Atiku was busy jumping from one political Party to the other like an office-seeking groupie and unprincipled desperado.

Obvious Atiku is only interested in instant gratification and not staying the course to build and nurture anything or anyone. He will be a disaster.

Furthermore, Atiku's rhetoric fools no one. No government, even that of Abacha, has lacked experts and eloquent technocrats who can talk the talk yet NigerIa never improves or develop showing it is not bout a lack of ideas but an unworkable governance structure the likes of Atiku do not have the will or intention to change.

The jury is in and has returned the verdict that Nigeria can never prosper nor develop without a brave and fundamental change of her fundamental governance structure.

Something we all know Mr.Empty Rhetoric, I.e Atiku, and 'Him Tu Lie', the conman from the East, can never deliver.

Go and check out Tinubu's gamechanging manifesto where, as one powerful example, he promises regional commission to help every single region get the best out of their unique human, resources and socio-economic endowment.

These sort of definitive action plan, from a leader who has always delivered far more than others, are what informed minds know can aid Nigeria's development.

Crystal clear only Tinubu wants to bravely and uncompromisingly move away from the 'one Nigeria' prison that has shackled our entire nation for decades now.

Bro, there is nothing for Atiku. Take that to the bank. God knows Nigeria must get it right or face painful balkanisation or internecine strife and even Rwandan-style ethnic cleansing across Nigeria we all know is already ongoing in the middle belt for ages now. In the SE UGM, IPOB etal remain ready to butcher Fulanis.

The whole nation is falling apart and does not need rhetoric from Dubai dweller or the coward Obi who always flees rather than fight as Tinubu has done his entire career whether against Atiku, OBJ or now PMB.

He is the President Nigeria needs not your arrogant Atiku who is too disdainful of Nigerians to live in Nigeria with them.

This is why God will not allow Atiku or Obi near Aso Rock. Nigeria has suffered enough and does not need a more-of-the-same pretender like Atiku or an impotent coward and political loner like Obi. Below is what we need and we oppose Atiku who will oppose it and Obi who can simply never deliver it if President foe 200 years.

I see no brain all these he outlined because some people are there to frustrate them all, nothing would be change after all these. We need productive mechanism in all economic sectors rather than solemnly rely on crude oil .

Atiku and Obi are always proffering elementary solutions to complicated economic issues, especially Obi. I will do this, I will do that, how they intend to do it is always missing.

Atiku always talking about private sector driving the economy, he had all the chance in the world to make that happen and he bungled it. Privatized power sector, failed. Privatized Nitel, failed. Privatized Nipost, failed. Atiku and big time failures are Siamese twins.

Obi always talking about reducing cost of governance, as governor of Anambra, he allocated more money to government house than Education and health. I am happy everyone of them has a track record we can reference.

Atiku and Obi are jokers. What is shown below, or a form of it, is the future Nigeria can never thrive or develop without.

Tinubu's manifesto, character, history and talk shows he will work holistically and fundamentally to deliver the changes and reforms Nigeria needs to develop quickly and enduringly.

Tinubu is the only candidate to promise specialised commissions for every region to maximize the potentials and unique endowment they all have that is being 'lost', frustrated and rendered impotent in the discredited 'one Nigeria' garbage.

200 plus million people continue to endure, year in and year out, with'one Nigeria' since Ironsi ratified the unification decree yet wisemen know that insanity is doing thing the same way, over and over again, to expect a different outcome.

Atiku and Obi are just peddling more-of-the-same garbage because they are not fit leaders capable of identifying problems and then devising solutions for them.

Tinubu is ready, proven and has the specific solutions to our historical and seeming insurmountable problems. We all also know he will arrive with the team to deliver those needed solutions. Others are just jokers

“Fourth, I will undertake a review of government procurement processes to ensure value-for-money and eliminate all leakages’

This is where the real scam is.

Procurement and contracts awards are over inflated

That’s reminds me of one governor who bought one goat for one million naira some years ago

Some Nigerians are really wicked to Nigerians

Nothing in your Economy plan.....creates jobs and opportunities.

Your plan is like curing diarrhea with dry fasting.

you will stop the diarrhea but you will kill the person as well.

Nigeria's economy is like playing 4 dimensional chess......

1-You need to create opportunity.

2-You need to protect the currency from devaluation and also stop capital flight.

3-You need a more even wealth distribution to the middle class.

4-You need to promote and reward hardwork and contribution.

5-You need to curb smuggling to protect locally produce goos and taxed the imports so that the bourgeoise can have their stuff albeit at a high price.

6-You need to setup up a commodities board where local farmers can can bring their produce, like corn, beans, yam sorghum, cattle, goats and then the federal government should seek to export these to neighboring countries. That way you take the burden off the local farmer. If he produces 2 trailers of corn the board will buy it from him automatically and then the board can sell 1 million trailers of corn to any country abroad we have bilateral relationship with...These weill send all the graduates to the farm.

7-Government officials should start patronizing made in Nigeria Goods only.

There are so many little fixes that will make Nigeria great.

You sound very well and better than Tinubu, reason you should stop campaigning for him. How do you entrust a nation of over 180 Million people to a man who hardly remember his political party ? Your words are so sweet but it’s one sided ! You condemned every other candidates but forgot to tell us about Tinubu gaffes each time he opens his mouth to talk ! Tinubu is good but truth be told,Tinubu is not sounding well again. Cabal will end up taking charge of the cabinet when the head is very sick.

Just take us back to 1999, we start from a clean slate and make Nigeria conducive for foreign investors to come in competitive traction with Dangote and other major local investors....If that comes into play, major industries will resurrect, jobs and livelihoods will resurge, markets will boom, insecurity will come down, demand for dollar for frivolous and speculatory activities will come down as people now have better things to do, the value of naira will improve and Nigerians now have a higher purchasing power.... Which means prosperity for all. As the economy starts a rapid expansion, you can power it's velocity towards reducing the nation's debt without much stress on her citizens.
