CBN trying to scapegoat POS operators having failed woefully.

Any scarce commodity/item etc attracts a premium. The simple economic principle of demand and supply

The high charge issue isn't solely on POS operators, the issue is from people giving them cash whether from banks or individuals they now sale the cash to them at 10/15% charge, and as a business person their sole earn is to make profit making the charge 15/20% charge to the customers

Were they given license in the first place

So if you did not give it what do U want to withdraw

Anybody can get pos for his or her business and they pos can also be use for pos business

Yes, they were given licences.

Every single umbrella or stand you see with a POS sign is registered to a super agent who operates with a licence from the banking institution. All the CBN has to do is withdraw PayCom's operational licence and every POS stand with an Opay machine is going to cease operations. That's how it works.

You don't just wake up and randomly acquire a Pos machine and umbrella and you feel that's all the requirement for the business.

Over 20 POS kiosks in my street have all closed shops because they can't access cash

It’s either the POS people are lying about the bankers charging them lots of money or CBN are just manipulating the situation

CBN should face commercial banks and not POS agents, do POS agents even have license? If CBN claimed they have distributed money to commercial banks and commercial banks could not give account of these money from CBN, then there is a problem. We have heard stories of some bank managers hoarding the new naira notes, why can't CBN withdraw the license of any commercial bank involved to serve as a deterrent to others.

Laughable, how can they coordinate this fisherman style policy? Do they even have an idea how many POS agents only in Abuja, not to talk of the 36 states!

Make money available Dunce CBN stooge!

grin grin.

Only in Nigeria you'll find an actual dunce calling a more enlightened person a dunce.

This donkey does not even know that it won't take up to 48hours for the detailed records of all POS stands in Nigeria to be on Emefiele's office table.

Sometimes it's best to shut your mouth if you're not very informed on a particular issue. You mustn't always have an opinion.

How many POS operators have licence?

If they all have a licence will they be so many?

What's at play is simply the was of demand and supply?
There is scarcity of Naira notes, certainly, the price will also increase.

CBN should sanction those officials of CBN that formulated this draconian policy

One PoS agent told me that he bought 500k with 30k.
CBN should not expect such agent to charge the usual charges from those patronizing him.
CBN should own their fault and stop passing the blame to others.
However, I do not mean to assert that some greedy PoS agents are not taking undue and unpatriotic advantage of the current cash crunch.
but if he charge 300# per 1k as den dey do, hin go make 150k... Is that not too much? undecided

No single Emefiele's policy or directive has been successful, not 1.

Anchor borrowers
Ban on crypto
Currency change
Cashless policy

All have failed.

Lack of simple calculations is disturbing you
You are blaming them but u don't blame the ones that made the cash difficult for them to access. Can you stand under the sun for hours or days and charge 100 naira for something that's very scarce? Have u found urself in a situation where to even see the money is a problem even with the high charge and u needed money desperately? If you can't queue for hours or days with fight just to charge 100 naira why do u think someone should do it for you? Are you not selfish and inconsiderate? Will you blame them? Are you just acting on emotions or you've analysed the issue before typing this
