...Says Emem Coffie is ready to become Akwa Ibom Governor

The first political party on the ballot; ACCORD, Akwa Ibom State chapter, has become the first to officially congratulate the Senator-elect for Ikot Ekpene Senatorial District, Chief (Dr) Godswill Obot Akpabio CON, in the Saturday's National Assembly election.

Akpabio, according to the official result by INEC, contested on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) where he scored a total of 115,401 votes to defeat the candidate of the peoples' Democratic Party (PDP) Barr Emmanuel Enoidem, who came a distant second after polling 69,838 votes.

The former Minority Leader of the Senate, was declared winner of Saturday's election by Professor Anthony Udoh at INEC office in Ikot Ekpene.

Reacting, the State's Chairman of ACCORD, Rt Hon Martins Ansa, while congratulating Senator Akpabio, on behalf of his party, said, the former Akwa Ibom governor's victory was an eloquent proof to all Akwa Ibomites that any candidate with good track record can defeat the ruling party in the State and that, PDP was not a religion as erroneously assume.

“This victory has again affirmed the general acceptance of Senator GodsWill Akpabio by the entire people of the State. We knew this victory is possible, that was why ACCORD endorsed and declared Akpabio as our sole candidate alongside the Presidential candidate of APC; Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

"On this note, I congratulate the good people of Ikot Ekpene senatorial district and most especially, members of ACCORD in the 10 local government areas of Akwa ibom North West Senatorial District, namely; Abak, Essien Udim, Etim Ekpo, Ika, Ikono, Ikot Ekpene, Ini, Obot, Oruk Anam and Ukanafun for voting massively for the Uncommon Transformer.

"His flawless victory at Saturday's poll is an eloquent proof that PDP is dead in Akwa Ibom." Part of his message read.

Ansa used the occasion to express his conviction in the ability of his governorship candidate, Engr (Dr) Emem Coffie, to win the March 11 gubernatorial election in the State.

”As it stands today, most especially with the massive support we enjoy from Akwa Ibom people across party lines, the alignments, re-alignments etc, ACCORD in Akwa Ibom is prepared and ready to take over the Hilltop Mansion.

”On behalf of our great party the ACCORD, I congratulate the Uncommon Transformer and the will of God for Nigeria, Asiwaju in advance. Accord in Akwa Ibom looks forward toward working with you both in our resolve to completely industrialize our State and take our people out of poverty,” Ansa stated.
