The leadership of the Nigeria Labour Congress has issued a seven-day ultimatum to the Federal Government to end the naira scarcity in the country.

The labour union threatened to go on strike if the issue was not resolved at the expiration of the ultimatum.

The President of the Nigeria Labour Congress, Joe Ajaero, gave the ultimatum on Monday in Abuja, at the opening session of the Central Working Committee meeting of the labour union.

Ajaero, who frowned at the hardship being faced by Nigerians following the naira redesign policy of the Federal Government, warned that on the expiration of the seven days, workers would be directed to stay away from work if nothing was done to ameliorate the situation.

Ajaero also condemned the fuel scarcity in the country, lamenting that workers and Nigerians were being pushed to the wall.

On this issue of fuel scarcity and cash crunch, the Congress wishes to inform the Federal Government that we will no longer keep quiet.

The NLC is giving the Central Bank of Nigeria and the FG seven working days, if they fail to do the needful at the expiration of the seven days, all workers in Nigeria should stay at home,
” Ajaero said before the meeting went into a closed-door session.

NLC should confirm from Emefiele and ipob pigs if they have finished punishing Tinubu before going on strike. Because, last time I checked, Tinubu has not started crying. undecided

Hmmmmmmmmmm.............
Finally Labour has come back to its Senses.....
That's what happens when apolitical and neutral organizations decide to pick side in the political arena, they lose the right to chook mouth in matters that should be their primary concern.
I have been wondering when labour will call for a general strike to shut down the country,I guess they have come back to their senses after their journey with Obidients.
Pls NLC,TUC,Pengassan, and all the other trade unions Should make sure Nigeria is grounded to a halt by next week Monday,if Terroristic and satanic Emefiele aided by Baba Buhari refuse to release the old currency back into the economy.
Since our president has decided to abdicate his duties, the masses must be ready to take over the leadership of this country.
God punish Emefiele
God bless Nigeria

Way to go! Eventually!

Obviously this policy is good. Emefiele enacted it. Obi spoke in support of it. Obidients were wielding it. Tinubu championed its disapproval.
Eventually it prevented Tinubu from buying votes, purposely, on 25th Feb '23. Too bad Tinubu didn't get to spend yet still mysteriously won the presidency.

Obi won the SU of UI, and the president of the internet bullies/dolts, anyway. Consolation.

On a more serious note anyway, I can't wait to see the end of this policy. It failed to even actualize its purpose and it's outlived its time, what more is left?

Just in the nick of time! This sliding into chaos must be stemmed now. May God grant them the fortitude to see the fight through, not minding the aroma of freshly minted Naira and foreign currencies that may be TRANSFERRED into their bank accounts.
