You're right it shouldn't have been this extreme. I suspect there was a jerry-can of petrol inside that bus...I've seen some bus drivers run their fuel supply directly from a 25-litre keg sitting right insde the cabin with them, because of fuel pump/tank issues.

Imagine the tipper driver that caused the accident survived. May the souls he wasted haunt him, and drive him nut in the hospital.
