Thank you jare.

Everybody is focused on how much naira equivalent he earns.

How much naira equivalent does he spend on rent, utilities, feeding, transport and flexing?

Let's know how much naira equivalent he saves after send upkeep to his aged parents back home as well.

Make everybody balance see the complete story.

You people overestimate the cost of living in the UK, it's not nearly as bad people make it to seem.
£45k gross annually (£3,750 each month) will give him £2,885 net income monthly after tax and NI! While most minimum wage earners get around £1k5 net. Unless he is living in London city and he's a lavish spender, this is likely his situation:
Rent and utilities - £700 (which is a bit high)
Food and groceries - £150 (unless he eats out 100%).
Remove that from his net pay he still has £2,035 at his disposal for other things. Worst case if he's living in London he will have over £1k left. Bring the figures if this calculation is wrong. Make Una stop to dey scare people who want to go there.

I find it hard to understand why people just chose to ignore the obvious reality.
Someone who is based here before traveling to the west is not wrong when he or she converts his “savings” to naira at the end. Note I said savings and not earnings/expenses.
Because many people traveling abroad are looking at investing in their home country someday.
A friend of mine who traveled to uk came back last year December and bought lands here and there in the east. He traveled via study route and stayed for two years before coming back to see his people.
It’s as simple as this: A Nigerian based bus driver that traveled to the uk and continued with same job will be far better financially than his counterparts here in Nigeria after a given time say 5 or 10 years.
Same with every other professions except politicians!
As a software engineer here in Nigeria, body dey pepper me when I see what my counterparts earns in uk/us/canada and someone is talking rubbish.
I’m not even talking about the standard of life and availability of basic amenities or security.
