oyatz: That's not the point.. The constitution didn't say it is mandatory to win FCT.. Just get a certain 25% of the votes... Buhari lost fct but got the required 25% amount... Obasanjo, GEJ all met the 25% Why should Tinubu be different? |

oyatz: Exactly, that's the point... If it is treated as a state the president should be treated (act) as the governor... Hence, the 25% in FCT |

SpatialKing: The constitution did NOT say get ' 25% IN the FCT' It is the mischievous supporters of Peter Obi that are inputting wrong notions into what is not there. Nigeria is a FEDERATION of 36 States and FCT. 1 Like |

Omowale2023:English language can be one of the subjects too. So having English, Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry (for example) satisfies this requirement! Unless it is stated that you need credits in 5 Subjects and English Language is compulsory! Question 2;This means 24 Mangoes and 1 Apple. An Apple and a Mango are different types of fruit. How are these related to Nigeria, Abuja and other states? |
Re: Fact File; Obj Vs Buhari (2003), 25% Is Compulsory In FCT. by AntiChristian: 9:58am On May 08, 2023 |
SpatialKing: So how is it a must to differentiate FCT from other states in terms of votes? A vote in Abuja is same as a vote anywhere else! So why does any president need win Abuja again? |

Re: Fact File; Obj Vs Buhari (2003), 25% Is Compulsory In FCT. by oyatz(m): 10:05am On May 08, 2023 |
SpatialKing: Because Nigeria is made up of 36 States and the FCT. States are Federation Units, the FCT is not. The essence of the 25% in two thirds of the whole of Nigeria is to ensure 'spread' or broad based support across most parts of Nigeria so that a particular ethnic group or Geo-political zone with high population will not be lording itself over the rest of Nigeria, so you need support of people in two thirds of the country. Now, the FCT is populated by people who are Gov't workers or have certain things to do with Gov't or Representatives of Foreign Countries , domiciled in the FCT. There is nothing special about the votes of the FCT that make it superior to votes of other Nigerians in the determination of who should be the President. 1 Like |

[quote author=Draslo post=122957913]So by your logic, getting 100% of votes in FCT guarantees you a seat in Aso Rock? Lol. As far as elections are concerned FCT will be deemed a state and will be treated as onw[/quote They will deemed it as state...so FCT has an elected governor or an appointed Minister? |

SpatialKing: FCT can't house the President and a Governor! The President is the number 1 Citizen in Nigeria. The Governor is the number 1 Citizen in any state. Hence the President appoints a minister who acts like a Governor in this regards! For Example, the Minister of the FCT with the Governors of the 36 states and CBN Governor attended NEC meetings! 1 Like |
