The New PSC Chairman has been in the headlines for the right reasons lately, at least we can say it's one of the goods news that's being celebrated. The country has been hit hard with economic recession from COVID pandemic, END SARS, kidnapping and insurgency.
Police typically are responsible for maintaining public order and safety, enforcing the law, and preventing, detecting, and investigating criminal activities.

The Nigerian Police Force (NPF) is experiencing problems in the areas of funding, expanded traffic problems, equipment, antiquated penal codes, public relations, and grievance procedures, but these problems can be addressed. The greatest problems facing the NPF is a shortage of quality personnel. It's clear that the new PSC Chairman is determined in creating an atmosphere that will create dedication, patriotism, harmony and in return produce some of our finest from the recruitment stage and even improve and reward those contributing to a better policing network.

Arase said, “The approval for the salary payment was in the interest of national security, anchored on the need to amicably resolve the lingering issues of recruitment between PSC and the Nigeria Police Force.

“The issue had occasioned untold hardship on the police constables, and the decision was also in response to outcry and appeals from Nigerians that the 2021/2022 police recruits were yet to be enrolled into the Integrated Payroll and Personnel Information System.
The complaint is that the batch of recruits have not received salaries, six months after passing out from the police colleges and duly posted to police commands and formations for active Police work"

The convener Wale Oke from the Conflict Resolution Advocacy Civil Society Organizations told journalists, " his response and prompt CTA (call to action) is a clear indication of a boss who is concerned about the Physical and mental health of the Men and Women working in the Nigerian Police Force and Nigeria at large"
