[size=14pt]Tinubu’s trial vindicates Gani Fawehinmi’ [/size]

An Abuja-based Non Governmental Organisation, Society for Rule of Law of Nigeria (SRLN), has described the trial of former governor of Lagos State, Bola Tinubu, by the Code of Conduct Tribunal as a vindication of the stance of the late human rights lawyer, Gani Fawehinmi (SAN).

The group said in a statement signed by its Coordinator, Chima Ubeku that “Gani Fawehinmi would be happy in his grave now. [size=14pt]As we look at Tinubu in the dock, our minds went back to that day at Igbosere, Lagos, where legal icon, Gani Fawehinmi, was pelted with sachets of ‘pure water’ by hoodlums sponsored by Tinubu.[/size]

“Our minds also went back to that human rights lawyer, who masterminded the shameful act just because of a few millions of Naira.

“We wonder where those who lined up behind Tinubu then will be hiding their faces were Gani Fawehinmi to be alive.” Referring to when the late legal luminary was pursuing charges against Mr Tinubu, the group stated that the truth had finally been revealed and that Nigerians who love the country genuinely must be missing Gani Fawehinmi now.

“If he were to be alive, he would have offered to prosecute Tinubu free of charge as he tried to do in 1999 when it was made public that Tinubu lied on his academic certificates, on which he (Tinubu) sponsored hoodlums to attack Gani.

“However, we are consoled by the reality that 12 years after Gani was humiliated at Igbosere, Lagos, Tinubu is now being tried for offences for which he (Gani) wanted him (Tinubu) tried in 1999.”

Gbawe, Eko Ile, demdem, oyb and the other "progressives", mek una come stone Gani wit pure water na! Are you guys scared of the truth?
Or maybe try the new trick of invoking evil spirits that ACN peeps employ this days.

I thought our mouthy ACN peeps would jump out from underneath their stones to throw more pure water sachets at Gani!. . . But I gather that they are quite busy invoking evil spirits on each other at Isolo!

Eko Ile must be their leader with Gbawe carrying the chickens and pot of jas.

[size=14pt]Council poll: Protest rocks Lagos over ‘imposition of candidates’[/size]

IKEJA—Ahead of the October 22 local government election in Lagos State, hundreds of aggrieved members of the Action Congress of Nigeria, [size=14pt]ACN[/size], yesterday, stormed the party secretariat in Ogba, Lagos State House of Assembly, Alausa, and took to the major streets in Isolo Local Government Area to protest alleged imposition of candidates.

The state party had, Monday, released the names of candidates to be fielded in the council polls in the 20 local government areas and 37 local council development areas.

The protesters, who accused state party chairman, Chief Henry Ajomale, of not following due process, called on the party’s National Leader, Senator Bola Tinubu, Governor Babatunde Fashola and members of the state assembly to intervene immediately. failing which they would disrupt the polls.

Also, major streets in Isolo LCDA witnessed massive protest as aggrieved residents, traditional chiefs and politicians stormed the Osolo of Isolo palace to register their grievances.

[size=14pt]Market women and men, including traditional cult, popularly known as “Osugbo” trooped to the streets to invoke evil spirits at a junction called “Orita Esu” (devil’s junction) in Isolo [/size]with various placards to show their grievances against the imposition of one Shamsudeen Olaleye, against the popular choice of Mojeed Adam as the party’s candidate for the coming council poll.

The protesters, who walked from Isolo Bus- Stop to the palace of Osolo of Isolo, Oba Kabiru Agbabiaka, said the party did not hold primaries but arbitrarily chose Olaleye, the incumbent chairman, as the candidate for the forthcoming election.
