SPEAKER, House of Representatives, Aminu Waziri Tambuwal yesterday, requested the British Government to reciprocate the gesture of President Goodluck Jonathan to the British business men in Nigeria by granting Nigerian businessmen in Great Britain a ten-year visa.

President Jonathan had promised to grant British nationals who are in Nigeria for investment a 10-year visa to encourage them to do business in Nigeria.

Tambuwal also appealed to the British Government to support Nigeria in her present fight against terrorism and other security challenges in the country.

He made these requests yesterday when the British Minister of Immigration, Mr. Damian Green paid him a courtesy visit in his office at the National Assembly Complex, Abuja.

Tambuwal, who described the relationship between Nigeria and the United Kingdom over the years as wonderful said that Nigeria needs the understanding and support of her former colonial master in the concerted efforts of the present administration to tackle the multi-faceted security problems in the country.

The Speaker further called on the British Minister to facilitate the implementation of the agreement between Nigeria and UK on the transfer of Nigerian prisoners in his country back to Nigeria.

He noted that the House of Representatives had passed the Bill for an Act to transfer Nigerians serving jail terms abroad back home, pointing out that the House would soon harmonise its position on the Bill with the Senate so that the legislation could be passed into law.
