A section of the Press is mischievously twisting the narrative to read that TINUBU’s GOVERNMENT HAS REMOVED SUBSIDY. That is NOT CORRECT. TINUBU’s govt has merely inherited a regime where there was no provision for subsidy in the 2023 Appropriation Act as from June, 2023 and the Petroleum Industry Act which is now extant has no provision for subsidy. President Tinubu merely acknowledged this state of affairs in his inaugural speech at the Eagle Square.

So any advocate of subsidy should convince the Nigerian people why President Tinubu should start on a note of illegality by promising to reintroduce something which the law has taken away. They should also convince the Nigerian people why President Tinubu should embark on a present illegality that gulped $10 billion of our scarce or unavailable resources in 2022 alone.

Those claiming to defend the right or welfare of workers should convince the Nigerian people that $10 billion injected into the economy yearly will not jumpstart the economy enough as to create massive jobs and even increase the same minimum wage they complain about.

That is the conversation the Nigerian people are prepared to have now

I think Tinubu was made to believe he's the new Sheriff in town, by so doing, he arrogantly entered into the controversy that ordinarily should not be his, and started on a wrong note just like Buhari.

This only can happen to leaders who are surrounded by praise singers only and not deep thinkers.

Praise singers are only there to boost your ego, and not inspire your deepest innermost thoughts. This was the reason why Buhari failed, and this same persons have started flocking around Tinubu. You can judge them by their comments on social media.

As a Yoruba man, Tinubu should have more understanding about what it means to be diplomatic.

He has no business in mentioning anything subsidy in his inaugural speech, even if he was to, he should not have been so direct and authoritative about it, but settle down and then, take the step one after the other. But bcs he has been made to believe by his cronies that Nigeria is his kingdom not his country, hence, the total display of arrogance without deep thoughts and diplomacy, now he has entered the net set for him by his predecessor, and thereby killed the spirit of celebration that should have greeted his inauguration.

Tinubu just created problem for himself where there shouldn't be problem at all. Now Buhari will be smiling bcs Tinubu has made it look as if, "the removal of subsidy was his brain child.

Well occupy Nigeria in 2012 comes to our mind, maybe it's karma that's at work.
