ThatCEO: Which USA? United States of Anambra, or which USA are you talking about? Fuel is over a dollar per litre in America, and that is equivalent of 700 Naira. I still bought fuel this morning for N500 here in Ibadan, so I don't know what you're talking about. 1 Like |

NLC should not go this path. I am not a fan of apc government, whether the former and the current. Still,I have always been in support of calls to remove fuel subsidy. If a Peter Obi of Labour Party or Atiku Abubakar of the PDP was sworn in on May 29, they will remove fuel subsidy as soon as possible. The NLC should let it be pls. 2 Likes |

Menclothing:all you said is true but have you think about the harsh effects this will cause. Think about those petty traders who depend on what they do to feed. Nigeria cannot survive one month with this by the time prices of food items jack up times 3. Buhari has damage the economy to a level that an average citizen will struggle to survive. Countries that removed subsidy have stable electricity and good road and rail systems that makes it easier for transportation of goods and people. Prices of the common foods are determined by price of fuel 3 Likes |

UptownVibes: What are the chances of your making gains from 90k per year ( lowest user rate) on subsidy or 3 trillion naira per on subsidy remova? The only people gaining big time from subsidy are the petrol smugglers and the heavy user elite. Just do the probability. 1 Like |

Destroy who? You, perhaps. It's Tinubu that will destroy himself with this evil policy barely a few days in government. Which sane government withdraws subsidy without putting in place palliative measures? Can't you see that he's shooting himself in the foot so soon by giving room for the current hardship in the country, barely less than a week in government? And remember there's a pending case against him in court!! The reason he should right the wrongs of Buhari in order to redeem his image in the eyes of the majority that don't like or want him. Truly, Nigerian leaders don't travel abroad for leisure and medical treatment, it's their villages they go to! If they actually visit developed countries, they'll copy their counterparts' nation building skills and develop Nigeria. UK that doesn't have half of Nigeria's natural resources, makes provisions for all its citizens , including walkways for the Blind! Nigeria who do us ?? For the record, don't be fooled by the anthem of ' they'll use the subsidy allocation to better the lot of the common man. Na big lie!! The subsidy is the only thing Nigerian masses are gaining from the government!! The removal is an addition to their already fat and bloated sitting allowances. Why has the so called government reduced or withdrawn the lawmakers' allowances? How have they been utilising their constituency allowances? So many unanswered questions! Tue!! danvon: |

Parachoko: Govt insensitivity to the plight of the masses will fail. How can a worker on 30k minimum wage feed and buy fuel at N700 per liter? Before the removal of fuel subsidy. Workers minimum wage shld be pegged at N100, 000 to cushion the effects |

BreconHills:Forget the stats you’re quoting.. This is Nigeria my frd. You won’t understand. Now if the subsidy funds will be used in sectors like education, health and even agriculture, salary increment ,power etc. Then of course it will be gain for the masses or citizens.. but looting will be the order of the day when it comes to this part of the world.. 1 Like |

What do these NLC actually do for the teeming work force except Strike and protest?,When Nigerians are been used and denigrated in private companies, you hardly see them fights for their rights.Has NLC itself as an organisation improved the welfare of workers across Nigeria, how many buses have they bought to aid workers movement across the country?? Make dem dey play. That been said, someone said the protest won't be successful in lagos, which I actually agree, lagos or SW won't protest against their *Son* and also want a repeat of EndSars. 2 Likes |

FrancisDiote:If government wait till June to remove the subsidy, their will be scarcity before then because the marketers will stock pile and hoard the fuel in anticipation of subsidy removal so that they can make super normal profit. President Tinubu's action is the best, the prouncement caught everyone off guard. Fuel price will adjust by the market forces. 1 Like |

Stakekay1:The fuel we are using now has been subsidized and still been hoarded. So what's the point? Removing it is a step in the right direction but it was badly done. Maybe the president thought he will be doing a lot of good by announcing it on his first speech and Nigerians will jubilate but he got it wrong. This is a sensitive issue that requires proper planning before execution. If it's possible, we must maintain the old price till the end of the month. |

2016easy2017: You are as clueless as NLC. You have no idea what you are saying. Nigeria Government does not have the capacity to pay fuel subsidy again and is currently owning NNPC more than USD 6 billion for Fuel Subsidy payment from Jan - May 2023. The Best time to remove Fuel subsidy was 2012 during GEJ tenure and the next best time to remove the subsidy is today. This Agbado Government was opposed to the idea of subsidy removal in 2012. See where we land now huh. Nigeria will likely declare bankruptcy/insolvency like Ghana if she attempt to pay subsidy for additional year. Nigeria is BROKE. And please don't be so emotional because you are not the only one affected. E dey touch everybody. 2 Likes |
