With a family annual income of less than N500k to be eligible, it means children of parents who earn N50k per month are not eligible as it comes to N600k. Also, if minimum age is increased from N30k to aY N50k due to subsidy removal, all the children of people who will be earning minimum wage won't be eligible.
So, which children will be eligible? It appears like a policy that is just for the upticks.

Although belated, it is the right step in the right direction on this memorable day of the June 12, three decades or thirty years after the annulment.

We have started to enjoy the dividends of democracy.

What some dunce like you fail to understand is that Obidients only want a Nigeria that works irrespective of the occupier of the office of president. Obidient is bigger than Peter Obi himself. He only embodies a semblance of what a modern day Nigerian president should be like. The druggie on the other hand embodies the totality of the Nigeria we would like to forget. I am sure I made more money under Buhari than your entire family combined made in your miserable lives. I assure you that I will make more money under Tinubu than your entire family and extended family and generations born and unborn put together can ever make in your entire bloodline.( Take that to the bank). When we demand a country that works for all, don't think we Obidients are as hungry as your family. We demand so because as the great sage, Chinua Achebe wrote in his book, "we do not gather under the moonlight in the village square to gaze at the moon. Every man can see the moon from his house. We gather because it's good for kinsmen to do so.". America is not great today because of the numbers of billionaires it has. It is great because of the relative comfort it offers those that live in America.

If you have sense, you should know that no Nigerian citizen that is inconsequential. A sane country sends a rescue mission to rescue one of its citizens in danger. The only person that matters to you is those who steal the taxpayer's money to climb the political ladder. So sad in your thinking.

Commendable and I just hope the process will be fair and transparent and those who really needs it get access to it and then repay as at when due.
My only fear is as a country ,we are yet to have a data bank to know who is who.

A workable free technical education from Primary school to the tertiary school would have been better.
This will enable self reliance and entrepreneurship

A good thought though.

Paperwork abi? If it not your father or Mother, which level 12 civil servant will be ready to sign as guarantor for a student loan? The scheme is dead before arrival

Web2020:
This is complete nonsense. This will not work in Nigeria right now. Nigeria has no data. Before anybody quotes me, first answer the following questions.

1. What happened to the Covid 19 business assisted loan?

2. What happened to the SMEDF loan for SMEs in Nigeria?

3. What happened to market money?

Anybody advising Tinubu to be signing all sort of nonsense bills is not helping him.

He should concentrate on building systems first. Build the institutions. Give at least 12 hours of stable electricity. Get good centralised data-based for Nigerians. A unified means of identification. Then all these schemes can now follow.

For now, Fanikoyode and that SAN will share this money met for the student loan. They will come out to tell stories of millions of ghost people that benefited. No one can verify.

You didn’t look at it in another side

You know every student must have bank , NIN and BVN, and from all these you can be track wether you are self employed or employed
