Maybe you don't know how powerful that office is.

And he ' ve served as Speaker. What is he looking for in the house again after five seasons.
That is how some of these politicians are, just look at Ahmed Lawan the immediate senate president,he navigated his way back to senate once again.

A Chief of Staff has no schedule. He is the clearing agent, he does all the job the President will ordinarily want to do but for plausible deniability.

He is the closest to the President and every member of Staff in the Presidency is answerable to him, he can hire and fire. See ehn, the Chief of Staff is everything!
He is 'everything' if his or her boss gives him or her the leverage. The only powerful COS staff to the president was late Abba Kyari. He was that powerful because Buhari allowed him.

Dey play
Imagine he go go dey answer ma to Tinubu wife
Dey do boy boy dey follow dem

Pride will never allow some of you smell greatness in this life. Someone resigns to serve his age-long boss, and you call it boy boy? Are you aware that even the senate president and the current house speaker will have to pass through Gbaja in order to see the president henceforth? Humble yourself if you want to climb high.

Well said.

If only they knew how powerful the position is.

The COS determines who can and can't see the president. He's that powerful.

Every Chief of Staff has been powerful. Some are subtle and choose to work on the sidelines but whichever it is a very POWERFUL office.

Will there be any form of election conducted before choosing the person?
