They're really out of ideas. To japa out of this country for a greener pasture is the best thing that can ever happen to anyone provided you entered the preferred country of your choice in a legit way.

So, the House of Representatives ended up deciding that addressing the 'Japa Syndrome' isn't a pressing issue?

They're basically telling us, "why bother retaining our bright minds and skilled professionals when we can watch them spread their wings and fly away to other countries?"

You're telling us you're a dictator and should never be skiers near power

It's like we're running our own talent export agency, ensuring a steady supply of doctors, bankers, and intellectuals to the rest of the world. cry

So what

Who needs doctors, nurses, and skilled workers in Nigeria when you have them all chasing after the same pot of garri? That's exactly what they're saying! They don't want to address insecurity, food shortage, etc. It's this they focus on first! angry

Can you pay them

Brilliant strategy, I must say! Maybe we should start a campaign to promote "Japa" as our national sport. Olympics, here we come!

Fools!
E reach 1% web guy japa?
Such low vibration thinking

They should first make Nigeria work, if Nigeria is working system no body will worry about japa Syndrome.

Re: Japa: Reps Vote Against Anti — Migration Motion by Angelfrost(m): 2:00pm On Jun 16, 2023
You idiots know exactly why they are leaving in droves!

These people don't uproot their lives so painfully to go and start all over as second class citizens solely for money... There are many other factors:

Security
A brighter future for their kids and generations unborn
A sane society where merit matters
Better working conditions
Democracies where citizens actually have the power
Etc...

You can't destroy the nation through corruption and looting, send your own kids abroad, then be worried that other 'lesser' citizens are running away!

Even nations at war don't have citizens fleeing the way Nigerian citizens are fleeing Nigeria!!!

Make it more expensive and difficult to Japa so that even educated Nigerians should take the desert root to die on their way to lybia ' or die in the sea trying to cross to Europe? Look there is no way you can stop Japa until the things enjoyed over there in foreign countries are made available here

You see how myopic you are?! This is the mindset of your leaders that has kept the nation backwards!

Who told you Japa is cheap?!! Lol!

The cost of emigration has quadrupled in the last decade, yet the brain drain has tripled!!!

What does that tell you?!!!

Instead of fixing the issues causing the Japa, you prefer to force those leaving to stay back and suffer! SMH!!!

Sycophancy and Obtuseness are Siamese twins!

They are right to have done that.

Let who wants to leave, leave in peace.

Let them leave so that others left behind can take up the jobs they resigned from.

We have Millions of Nigerians that will replace them
this primitive and barbaric mindset cannot make Nigeria better no one would like to stay in a country that keeps valuing dollars over its local currency and makes life difficult for people who finish from school

I can now say that 95% of people commenting on this thread don’t read or lack understanding of the thread.
The Honourable member is proposing that the issues causing japa syndrome should be addressed as state of emergency in other to tackle it.

They can't stop us from leaving this dead country. We didn't destroy the country, they did.

So let that be their legacy

Rep dysfunctional in the head??

In the old Soviet Union, emigration visa was a law.
Do they want to bring Nigeria to the condition of the old Soviet Union?
Rep who wanted to control the movement of Nigerians but refuses to make laws to make Nigeria 🇳🇬 abandon its unitary government system making Nigeria 🇳🇬 dysfunctional; such a Rep is dysfunctional in the head.

RESTRUCTURE NIGERIA TO WORK SO THAT PEOPLE WILL NOT LEAVE.
What is Bola Tinubu waiting for before starting a National Conference?
Bola Tinubu crisscrossed the SW region for twenty years asking for political restructuring of dysfunctional Nigeria.
When is Tinubu kicking off the political restructuring Conference?
Don't mind the foxy Arewa politicians who ask the southerners to come to the National Assembly for political restructuring, knowing full well that Arewa Reps overpopulate the NASS drawing from the undue large number of states created by northern soldiers in the old Northern region.

Make the country better and see if people go Japa.

The place they are japain to, na because the place dey developed.

Exactly.

Mostly unserious set of people.
How many of them have kids schooling in Nigeria to start with?

People go extreme way to acclimatize in Winter and all sort, it is not because they hate their father's land but because seats of leadership in Nigeria seem accursed and are to torment citizens.
Who does desire a great future and a society where your sheer contribution can be equally rewarded for what it is?

People demonize laptop carrying youngsters in tech calling them Yahoo boys in 21st century.

That green Nigerian passport is NOT only as ugly as you can imagine, but it also portends danger to the carrier as well especially when you're outside the shores of Nigeria.

Citizens will japa because no jobs for the youths. Those who are working can not make ends meet.
Nigeria government should address the issues causing people to migrate.

Philip Agbese is a UK returnee. These people would rather Nigerians line up at their gate with plates begging for food so they can walk by and be hailed. They want to keep Nigerians in poverty and misery.

If it's not witchcraft, why will someone who made his breakthrough in the UK return and the first he doesn't as a rep is to move to stop people from leaving the country to fin their own breakthrough. He has gotten to the top and wants to push the ladder away. Broad daylight witchcraft.
