The guy made a good point. The supreme court is the highest court. Any decision made by it stands.

Everyone knows Ariwoola is a paddy of the president. He needs judges of like minds to win case for who ever they want to win it for.

It is obvious the Election matter will reach the Supreme Court finally.

The US only have 9 Supreme Court justices, so what workload are they talking about to justify 21 judges.
Every State in the US have a Supreme Court, infact some States have two (one for Civil cases and another for criminal matters).

The 9 judges in the SCOTUS only handle cases that has to do with the Federal law or their Constitution.

In Nigeria, it's different, almost every matter go up to the apex Court.

The cases handle by US supreme court is different to some irrelevant cases handled by the Nigeria counterpart. It is just that there are cases that not to get to supreme court. Like cases that involve individuals and does not generally affect the general masses, they ought to stop at appeal court

Well said bro. The emotional politics is just too much.No substance at all.

Just look at the number of their lawyers that were supporting interim government because of the 25% in Abuja... Joining their tribesmen to protest against Tinubu's inauguration.

Actually, what’s “long overdue” is REFORM…

The Supreme Court only supposedly “needs” 21 justices because every SINGLE case in Nigeria could theoretically make it’s way to the Supreme Court. Reasonably certain there’s no serious-minded nation in the world where that is the case. What should be done in Nigeria is primarily two-fold: (1) operate a REAL federal system, where the states have their own judiciary up to state’s highest (or “supreme”, by whatever name) court ans whereupon cases involving state law and emanating therefrom should terminate; and (2) a Supreme Court of only ONE panel constituted by ALL of the Justices of the Court (preferably not to exceed 11 or 13 members), with the power of certiorari, which means that they can decide which cases they can hear and which to decline on a case-by-case basis (except for cases of original jurisdiction under the Constitution, such as cases between the states or between the states and the federal government).

Having 21 (even 50) MEDIOCRE JSCs will do nothing to improve “efficiency and effectiveness”…
These days the position has become like a civil service promotion, with political “representation” considerations.
