The Trade Union Congress (TUC) President, Festus Osifo, has said that despite the subsidy removal by President Bola Tinubu administration, state governors have not changed their lifestyle.

Osifo stated this during an interview on Channels TV’s Politics Today.

He said the Tinubu administration had not put anything on the table for the poor before removing subsidy.

He said, “The people are the easiest target. The question Nigerians have asked is that what has the government brought to the table.

“Today for example, if you see one of the demands we submitted is that there are manufacturers in Nigeria, but what policy has been brought to help them? Governors are just going about business as usual.

“Their convoys are endless. The government is able to subsidy fuel. They borrowed money. What have they done with it.”

While their online miscreants are standing at bus stations gidigba

When I tell you people that tribal voting will affect both Igbo yoruba and Hausa una no hear

Now Tinubu has increased government officials salaries from the removed subsidy that’s supposed to improve lives of common citizens

while the foolish lectures and professors who rigged him in is at stagnant wages

As for me I wasn’t expecting anything different from Buhari & Tinubu

The joke is on people who believes a man that singlehanded paid INEC chairman $370 million dollars will work for the masses and won’t recover his money spent

Imagine how much Tinubu spent in total from campaign to electorates to vote buying in dollar bills to INEC officials to party agents to thugs he asked to snatch to his political Machineries in all wards to judiciary etc

ALL OF A SUDDEN THE POLITICIANS WHO CARED ABOUT POOR MASSES DURING NAIRA REDESIGN AND HOW POOR NIGERIANS ARE SUFFERING DONT CARE ANYMORE

They won't change. We'll take them serious when they start cutting down the cost of governance.

Politicians can't be renting big houses, and flying first class while taxpayers are wailing in poverty, plying bad roads and living with epileptic electricity.

Heard there's a rumored 114% increase in some folks salaries. If that's true, then...hmm. o ma se

This is the grimming reality of the fuel subsidy issue. Just taking from the poor to feather the rich. They are not ready to cut the cost of governance or their ostentatious lifestyles hence all the freed monies from subsidy are being channeled for salary increment, estacodes, funding large retinue of aides, special assistants etc and not to cushion the economic effects of the government policy changes.

TBH, I don't think there's anything we can do about it because those people didn't get Into politics with good intentions.

Guess what, we the people can only complain, but hope to enjoy like the politicians did when we get the opportunity. So, the cycle continues.

THIS SUBSIDY IS SERIOUSLY AFFECTING MAJORITY OF NIGERIANS ESPECIALLY THE POOR,NOTHING WAS PUT IN PLACE BY THE PRESIDENT TO HELP THE POOR,

THE SUFFERING HAVE INCREASED,NO SALARY INCREMENTS FROM PRIVATE COMPANY TO THEIR STAFFS,

I AM NOT AGAINST PRES TINUBU,BUT HE DID NOT CONSIDER THE EARLY NEGATIVE EFFECTS OF THE SUBSIDY ON POOR CITIZENS.

ITS NOT EVERYONE THAT HAVE A WEALTHY PARENTS LIKE ME,BUT I WILL KEEP SPEAKING FOR THE POOR.

THANKS TO ALL THE NAIRALANDERS PREACHERS AND EVANGELISTS KEEP IT UP.

They want remove every subsidy except their own expenses.

No matter the level of atrocities and blodshed in Nigeria, they simply do not care

The only time they cared and came physically to court with claim that 'masses' were suffering was when Naira redesign did not allow them to have access to bulk cash

So what exactly is he referring to

This subsidy removal of a thing should be a closed chapter by now.

If we don't remove it today, petrol will still be sold at 500 or above in the nearest future.

The last time it was removed, how much was it being sold How much was it months ago before subsidy was finally removed

We should not allow the present NLC leaders to make money with our collective destiny like Oshiomole did when he was NLC's leader

If we kept the subsidy, by the time subsidy costs grow greater than our earned revenue, there would be no money left over for anything...legal or illegal.

The honest truth is that we don't even have enough money for nothing right now.

Below...how subsidy affects our revenue. The times subsidy money fell was when fuel prices were raised, reducing subsidy costs.

The sacrifice is for the poor to make.

The belt tightening sermon if for the poor, who is always at the receiving end of their maladministration.
