The National Assembly, yesterday, amended the N819.5 billion 2022 supplementary budget and approved N70 billion to support the “working conditions” of new lawmakers.

The amendment also made provision for N500 billion in palliatives for Nigerians to cushion the effects of fuel subsidy removal.

The amendment was passed in both the Senate and House of Representatives 24 hours after President Bola Ahmed Tinubu sent the request to the parliament.

The breakdown of the amended N819.5 billion supplementary budget showed that N500 billion goes for palliatives to cushion the effect of recent fuel subsidy removal. It will be domiciled in the finance ministry.

The details also showed that N185 billion was for the Ministry of Works and Housing to alleviate the impact of the flooding disaster suffered in the country in 2022 on road infrastructure across the six geopolitical zones.

The sum of N19.2 billion was allocated to the Ministry of Agriculture to ameliorate the massive destruction to farmlands across the country during the flooding experienced last year; N35 billion to National Judicial Council; N10 billion to Federal Capital Territory Administration for critical projects.

Removing subsidy only to continue borrowing for palliatives that will be looted feels like contradicting policy.

More inflation likely coming too.

Feels like PBAT is winging it atm

This has been going on since the start of democracy in nigeria....

this is how the executives and law markers use tax payers money to keep the justice department in their pocket....this way, they get away with every evil and also make it impossible for the common man to sue the goverment..

Tinubu: "Previous cheaper fuel prices only favoured the rich"

Also Tinubu:
* gives N35bn to the Judiaciary*

* gives 115% pay rise to our billionaire lawmakers *

* Introduce taxes for market women / Informal sector*

A very clever criminal!

Humn! "It’s how it works; a candidate cannot seek to separate himself from his party’s successes or failures. Brings me to the main issue, which is Bola Tinubu’s attempts at touting himself as ‘pro masses’ by trying to failures and anti-people policies that have being since 2015. It doesn’t work that way.

Nigerians have unanimously agreed that the APC administration since 2015 is the worst of our lifetime. What’s more? Everyone (including APC supporters) are in agreement that the Buhari-led APC Government’s Anti-people policies have made people poorer and more miserable.

Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the APC Presidential candidate has promised (with no ambiguities) to continue the failed anti-people policies of the current government."

Tinubu is currently in a phase of "chop make I chop" he knows he got into power in a crook manner and every law on Earth will reject the way he got into power but he is trying so hard to please the Judges and find favour in their eyes in order not to get booted out. Unfortunately ridiculous.

Anyway may this 35 billion Tinubu will give to the judges favour me and my family. grin
