Don't play with those Asian oil blocks... They don't even know what to do with their money. Let me tell you how Dubai became the business center and tourist attraction..

Some years ago, people don't really know about Dubai, and Dubai felt there was need for the world to know her because she had the money in excess, thanks to oil.

So, Dubai will contact manufacturing companies in germany, USA and other european countries...import products of her choice and sell at a loss to attract business men and woman and also improve their tourist sites.

For example, an item that has a cost price of 100 dollars will be imported by Dubai and sold at 80 dollars...now, business men and women saw the need to buy from Dubai... people in numbers started visiting Dubai for businesses ...and while they visit, they will Lodge in the hotel, take cabs, visit nice places and eat for the number of days...which means more money for the Dubai economy...except for now that companies are now in Dubai, initially it was not like that

You are correct on this. Not only Dubai (the Emirates mostly). I know of someone that went for Hajj in 2007 and decided to buy the 2006 Camry because of the price (that was 50% less in Nigeria) only to be told that it was subsidized and he could only buy and use it within Saudi Arabia.

You are juxtaposing two different things.

Paying people to drive or cook has nothing to do with a poor man's mentality. You pay people to offer certain basic services because you have bigger tasks to handle and don't want to invest useful time doing them.

For instance, the time and energy the MD invests in driving can go into thinking of innovative ways to move the company forward. When he is able to think of great ideas to move the company forward, the wealth he created can hire tens of thousands of drivers.

There's a reason children of many rich people can't do anything for themselves. That's because they were badly spoon-fed by their parents. Hark work and efforts build people, make them learn the hard way (we call this street smart) and make them resilient. If you like, you learn. If you don't like, keep arguing.

PS: I won't reply you again.
...

You don't need to reply me...you call them lazy but yet their GDP is far higher than that of your hard working country...who is deceiving who ?

I rather go to kuwait than china... kuwait economy is so rich that her citizens are paid on monthly basis for doing nothing...while they recruit workers from other countries

Let's not be envious..you should be comparing those countries with your quota system nigeria...and not comparing them with USA or China
Lazy man. Those places will collapse after the era of oil

forget story abeg bros, how many hard working kids from poor or middle class families in Nigeria are as successful as their rich and lazy counterparts?
So you expect those arabu billionaires parents to allow their kids drive themselves, mow the lawn, do dishes and cleaning because they want their kids to be hardworking?

There is one thing most of you don't understand. Strong currency does not translate into strong economy and macroeconomic growth.
The world's strongest currency today is Kuwaiti Dinar which is exchanged at 1 Kuwaiti Dinar =$2.3 US Dollars. But that doesn't confers the status of strongest economy on Kuwait. Currently, over 100 Chinese Yuan is exchanged for $1 US Dollar, conversely, China is indisputably the largest and strongest economy in the world both in terms of GDP and balamceoftrade!
What Nigeria needs to have stronger economy is increase production capacity for exports while trimming down on imports that greatly makes US Dollar a hunted currency. This in the long term reduce dependence on foreign currency for imports while increasing the demand for our local currency (Naira).
So the bottom line is not strong currency but increase in GDP growth and low imports.
