Why Are African Leaders So Easy To Influence? by igbo2011(m): 1:48am On Oct 08, 2011
America is influencing imperialism on many African countries. The only man to stand up to imperialism was Robert Mugabe. Thomas Sankara, Patrice Lumumba, and Kwame Nkruhman are not alive but the current leaders are too easy to influence. America tells Goodluck to do anything and he does it. Why can't African governments stand up to imperialism?? The Congo has been at war for a long time and the foreigners just extract all the resources while millions of people died so far. Atleast the South Americans stood up to imperialism like Hugo Chavez and Evo Morales.Brazil stopped being a slave to the IMF and now they are one of the fastest growing countries in the world.

We need more people like Thomas Sankara, Lumumba, and Nkrumah. But now corruption is so ingrained in Nigeria that the west doesn't have to do anything anymore. If a president wants to make changes then he will die domestically like Funsho Williamss.

America supports bad dictators like Pinochet of Chile, Mubarak of Egypt, and Suharto of Indonesia. Why don't or government stand up for their people and stop thinking about their pockets?

@Poster, what proof do you have that they are easy to influence, I mean apart from conjecture and the lot. What proof do you have that African leaders are easy to influence?  undecided undecided undecided undecided undecided

I know it is easy to start a thread on here but that shouldn't really be license to create a thread for any silly idea or line to runs through your mind.
Re: Why Are African Leaders So Easy To Influence? by aljharem3: 1:59am On Oct 08, 2011
African leaders are easy to influence because the people are not united so it is easy to remove the leader and put a new one there if their instructions are not met.

sad but simple.

Solution :- Nigeria should not separate because it would even be a lot easier for them to manipulate us better in our individual region or countries since there wouldn't be any scapegoat like IBB and co again but now the individual leaders would be causing inter ethnic battle and before you know it, the each country is in a civil war.

2. Kill leaders equally and arrest them equally.

3. Vote for a detribalised Nigerian !!! Not a president that said "igbos voted for me in the north" Who cares who voted for who ? do ur job

4. Nigerian should be more educated and exposed so they can see signs of these things

Lets try to learn from past mistakes.

Killing accomplished nothing before besides greater bloodshed and an unending cycle of retribution.

What is needed more is a system of checks and balances that can prevent abuse of the system.

Tpia I think it does.

It is the same set of ideeiot that destroyed this country are the ones still hand picking themselves and others to rule. They get their orders from "who knows".

I mean almost all their policies have worked against Nigeria ? wtf

why would they want to work against their own country ? It makes no sense

America just wants oil.  They don't care about Syria or Ivory Coast when they fight because there are no interests.  America needs oil CHEAP so it can fuel their economy.  America is 5 of the world population but uses 25-30% of the world's resources.  They do this to make more and more money.  If other people are making their own cars, computers, planes, then less profit for American corporations. That is a reason why people are occupying wall streets as we speak.  They corrupt other governments around the world.

They also like to kill countries before they get too big.  That may be a reason why they helped Nigeria during the Biafran war.  They don't want to see Africans united.  Whites know that blacks are the original man and deep down inside they fear intelligent blacks.  So they make us hate ourself.  THey lie in histroy class to not give us credit.  Watch this video and you will see what they do to black Americans:

Yeah but see what happened to Ghadahfi that loved his people, the rest of his corrupt allies hung him out to dry. The AU were supposed to hold a meeting the day after the bombing campaign began. Tell me they didnt know what was going on; they were jelous that he got his priorities straight and couldnt stand a leader that wasnt interested in keeping only his pockets fat.

Now look what they done to that one time lovely country, bombed back into the stone ages. It is we that have to make things happen, because me and you and you and you, we are the people that you refer to above.

REVOLUTION!!!! without a civil war or genocide.

Everybody should watch this documentary about Thomas Sankara.  He was going to make burkina faso an amazing country.  But the west doesn't want that:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HvBC7tmgFFM

Also watch this about Patrice Lumumba:

People the west has so much influence on Africa because of the resources.  Many people call oil a curse.  look what happened to Venezuela.  Now countries like Ethiopia are having their land bought by foreign government so foreign farmers can farm and export all the food to their country.

Forget about the failed cases, regroup and start again Look at Brazil, look at India, look at Iran all these countries started by being bullied by the likes of America and Co; all three are now super powers in their own right.

Nobody said it will be easy, but be in no doubt it is a job that has to be done and it has to be done.

I just showed you the proof man.  If you don't believe me then google America overthrown african government and you will see plenty of articles and videos.  They do it politically (overthrow government) or economically (IMF, WOrld bank, WTO). Here is a video about the WB:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DrynBzUpyag&feature=related

Study neoliberal economics look what Milton Friedman did to South America and Africa.  Low tariffs, no subsidizes etc.  Now African governments owe lots of money to the IMF.  Watch the documentary called the end of poverty.   Here is te director of it:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GsMIQqfmLMQ

Dude I have been studying this stuff for the past 2 years on my spare time.  Read Bad Samartians by Ha Joon Chang, Confessions of an Economic Hitman by John Perkins.  Dead Aid by Dambisa Moyo. The west wants to keep African nations as consumers without producing.

Yes I agree, we need to start again so we can grow fast. Brazil stopped getting aid from the IMF and their economy is soaring. We need to stop getting foreing aid from all countries because it is not a grant, we will owe it back to them. The government needs to stop being a puppet though. I hope Ngozi Okonjo isn't one either.

Also, don't trust David Cameron. He came to Lagos a couple monthes ago to commend Fashola. He has the power to kill Fashola and other good leaders.

Re: Why Are African Leaders So Easy To Influence? by Amujale(m): 2:40am On Oct 08, 2011
People the west has so much influence on Africa because  Africans allow this to be the case, if Africans start behaving like Africans and not trying to emulate the enemy of progress then you'll see great changes. Its like a man trying all means possible to date a woman that has a bazoka aimed at his cranium; it can only end up in tears.

When will we get it! the West are the enemy of Africa's progress. The sooner we realise this the better life becomes. Brazil have done it to the point that they retrieved all their artefacts from around the many museums that they were scattered. And Iran, well you dont need to be told about that country, they built nearly all their defensive capabilities internally.

The stigma goes beyond our leaders, we celebrated our carteblanche, without knowing that the mindset of the africans have been highly circumscribed by the seeds of education and religion left for us by the perfidious honkies. If the africans can unfetter their mindsets, and jettison any sort of camaraderie with the whites, it'll be chimera for the white to ruminate about having any scintilla of influence in our political ambience. The sine qua non for achieving this anticipated freelance, is standing up to the whites and assailing them aggressively in our land with xenophobic intent. Again, we have to build a strong amity with the asians. When all this things are done, the issue of whites influencing our leaders will cease to recrudesce.

Just so you know, that line above DOES NOT in anyway answer or do away with your needing to respond with substantial evidence in this. @Cap28 is known to use that so much ehn, it is futile even attempting to extract reason from him as that seems his only defense whenever you demand he provide rational thought to back up his claims. You claim the reason African leaders act the way they have been known to is because they are easily influenced. If this conclusion has been made by you, by LOGICAL means, then it shouldn't be hard for you to produce the same LOGICAL argument for someone else(someone who does not visit the basement in your mind there) to see.
