9ja voice, the north kick out people from Ghana from nigeria, not yoruba

9ja Voice, what happen is that the yorubas recruited teachers from Ghana because the school system was operating a shift system , where children who had to go to school in the evening, did not see their parent at night because they were in school.

Chief obafemi awolowo before the election promise to cancel this. So they recruited teacher from Ghana. Which lead to many people from Ghana coming into nigeria. But in 1983 before the election. The north assume that the population of the people of Ghana will affect the election result. So Shagari kick out all Ghana people from Nigeria.

Which created hate between Nigerian and Ghanaian. For many years Nigeria and Ghana were not in talking mode.

While many Ghanaian did hate nigerian because they lost everything they had, because they were given may 3 days or 7 days to leave the country. it was said to be only illegal people. But at this point in nigeria life, there were no lay down process to documentation in nigeria.

Many Ghanaian still and will never forgive Nigerian for this.  it affected even mere soccer games, which lead to crowd violent at socccer games involving Nigeria and ghana socccer team or national team or an event. It took years to overcome this.

That why it is a do or die when nigeria play Ghana, both of them will rather die on the soccer pitch than loss the game to each other.
They even go as far as involving spiritual help to win against each other.

It lead to this word "Ghana must go" as a result of the hate between nigerian and ghana, which appear 27,000,000 time on google. and also this Ghana refered to as "Ghana must go" bag
