“Peter Obi Is The Only One With 25% Votes In FCT, He Needs To Prove He Had 25% Votes In 24 States” – Dele Momodu Reveals

The Director of Strategic Communications for the PDP 2023 Presidential Campaign Council, Mr. Dele Momodu, has emphasized that Labour Party’s candidate, Peter Obi, stands as the sole contender who has fulfilled the constitutional criteria by garnering a minimum of twenty-five percent of the votes cast in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja.

During an exclusive interview with the Mic On Podcast, a platform renowned for its incisive discussions, Mr. Momodu underscored the significance of Peter Obi’s achievement while acknowledging that further steps are necessary to solidify his position.

He noted that, in order to bolster his chances of emerging victorious through legal channels, Mr. Obi would need to substantiate his attainment of twenty-five percent of the votes in at least two-thirds, or twenty-four, of Nigeria’s states.

In Mr. Momodu’s words, “In this particular scenario, both Tinubu and Atiku failed to meet the 25% threshold in the FCT. Consequently, a standoff has arisen between the two prominent contenders, and it is only within the realm of the judiciary that this conundrum can find resolution.”

Mr. Momodu, a prominent media personality with keen insights into the political landscape, emphasized that the only contender who has crossed the aforementioned threshold is Peter Obi. Furthermore, Mr. Obi’s potential victory rests upon his ability to corroborate his attainment of the 25% benchmark in more states than his counterparts.

Mr. Momodu’s opinion holds that if Mr. Obi successfully substantiates his performance by providing verifiable evidence of securing twenty-five percent of the votes in a greater number of states than both Tinubu and Atiku, he would secure the laurels of victory. The media mogul attested that Mr. Obi is the only candidate who has convincingly upheld the stipulations of the constitution thus far. Nevertheless, Mr. Obi’s journey toward triumph necessitates the additional demonstration that he achieved the coveted benchmark in twenty-four states—a criterion that, if unmet, would yield a deadlock in the ongoing electoral discourse.

In essence, Mr. Momodu’s perspective underscores the significance of Peter Obi’s accomplishment in satisfying the constitutional mandate of securing a quarter of the votes in the FCT. However, he cautions that this achievement represents a preliminary step. The crux of the matter, as articulated by Mr. Momodu, lies in Mr. Obi’s ability to prove the same achievement in twenty-four states across the nation—a feat that would decisively propel him toward the pinnacle of electoral victory.

The evolving political scenario, as articulated by Mr. Momodu, is one marked by nuanced legal considerations and the meticulous scrutiny of electoral mandates. The current dynamic has led to a situation wherein only Peter Obi has navigated the constitutional requirement by amassing twenty-five percent of the votes in the FCT. Yet, the ultimate test rests on his capacity to demonstrate an equivalent achievement across twenty-four states—a validation of his nationwide appeal and electoral prowess.

As the nation’s attention remains riveted on the unfolding events, it is clear that the outcome of the electoral proceedings hinges upon the intricate interplay between constitutional imperatives, legal interpretations, and verifiable electoral performance. Mr. Momodu’s insights shed light on the focal points of this multifaceted contest, underlining the unique path that Peter Obi has charted as the solitary candidate who has thus far fulfilled the threshold set forth by the constitution. However, the journey toward triumph entails the formidable task of substantiating this achievement across a broader geographic canvas. Only time will reveal whether Peter Obi’s aspirations will find their fulfillment within the parameters set by law and the complex tapestry of Nigerian politics.

Obi has 25% in FCT, Atiku and Tinubu have 25% in 24 states. We are yet to know who has simple majority. Rerun is necessary.

25% in FCT is not a requirement to be elected president. The Constitution is very clear as to how a winner should emerge. There are only two requirements to be elected president when the candidates are more than two.
1. Win majority of lawful votes.
2. Get at least 25% in 2/3 of all the states and FCT.

Attached is a screenshot of the Constitution. There is no where in the constitution where it was stated that getting 25% in FCT is a requirement.

The tribunal has reserved judgement on the matter already. We should stop all the noise and allow them rule on the matter.

Then Abuja people are special people...

Yet, they don't get their indigenous people to manage their affairs...

All one needs is to win Abuja and wait for any rerun from anybody that wins majority of the other states...

Simple..

Allow Obidients to continue in their forlorn hope because that's all they have to hold on to right now.

Abuja is a cosmopolitan Town filled with Nigerians of all Tribes e.g. Yorubas, Hausas, Igbos, Efiks, Ijaws, Igalas, Edo, Urhobos, Tivs, Idomas,etc..
So a Presidential candidate has to perform well in such a Place.🙂 smiley

Not using Zamfara, Yobe, Kebbi, Sokoto, ILLITERACY votes to win elections. sad

OBJ, Yaradua, Goodluck Jonathan and Muhammadu Buhari did NOT perform WOEFULLY in Abuja! 😏☹️
