fighting military rule is what realy united us after the civil war....

but we understand too france must go away from niger republic....
That is where you guys are getting in it completely wrong. Nothing concern Igbo or Nigeria with what is happening in Niger. Nigeria going to war in Niger to please US and France is counter productive. Why did we not invade Maly and Bukina Faso if not wanting military rule is the motive? So the northerners and few sane yorubas that are speaking against the war want military rule also?. Diplomacy is the answer. Even if tinubu goes to war everything will still end on round table. So exploit the round table now.

Maybe Algeria has agreed to supply them with electricity for free. Who knows. This means very soon they would no longer be dependent on Nigeria as a landlocked country

Electricity will not be supplied for free... if there's going to be a supply at all, then it will be paid for. Moreover the logistics to make that happen cost billions of Dollars & Years

I learnt Niger was having regular power supply.Meawhile,Nigerians are paying for darkness with tariff increment every now and then.

tinubu is super turbo fast becoming a colossal mistake for Nigerians.
at least it took Nigerians about 2 years to realize how useless Buhari was but in tinubu's case he seems to be instantly proving how terribly inadequate he is prepared for the office he is occupying

Buhari's grandparents are from Niger. Many Northerners came into Nigeria from Niger. Where did you think herdsmen that terrorised Nigerian farmers came from? Where did you think smuggled petrol goes and by whom?

My guy, Nigeria needs to divide. Let's all part ways and enjoy peace of mind in the little corner where we'll be.

But a rich country can do that for a poorer neighbour as did Nigeria constructing a railway line to our poor neighbours Niger Rep. Maybe Algeria wants to play the big brothers. So they may not be bothered with how much they are spending since they just want to prove a point to Nigeria

Most of them are aliens from those neighbouring countries. There borders are never shut. They are wiser than the Western part of Nigeria.

Algeria has the longest border line with Niger, and Algeria has more than enough power to share with Niger but I think they will need to build a transmission line specifically for that.

Algeria has been a silent backer of the developments in Niger Republic. It is means, it becomes an automatic antagonist of Nigeria once ECOWAS goes ahead to attack or invade Niger. Foolish balabloo-blu-bulava.See the national shame and disgrace.

Brother, don't you know some people do talk without reasoning first..so Niger will just switch plugs in a day and light will ON immediately..

The distance between Niger and Algeria is over 1300 Km desert..it will take a lot of Years as you've rightly said if there's no transmission lines already.
The distance between Niger and Algeria is not 1300km as you claimed. You lied.

The distance between Niger and Algeria is actually 1cm. They share border.

Next they will complete their dam over River Niger and reduce water supply to Kainji, Jebba and Shiroro hydropower dams in Nigeria.
Tinubu violated our treaty with Niger republic which made no provisions for sanctions and using electricity as punishment for political impasse,

Nigeriens are seeing Nigerians as enemies now after their soup and meat don sour for freezer because you cut power supply you expect them to support you to impose western backed democracy in Niger?

They have started building their dam nao. Even before the coup issue.

The Chinese company building the dam stopped cause of sanctions place on Niger. They just stopped work on that dam like last week or thereabout.

So many wrong information flying left right and center on this internet.

what makes you think algeria doesnt already has sometype of infrastructure in southern algeria....??

The transmission of electricity from Nigeria to Niger is from Kangi Dam directly in Niger state. So don't expect Algeria to supply electricity from just your 1cm border. The only close province to Niger only have proposed 50megawatt solar..

There is a project since 2021 in algeria for 5 billion dollars

Algerian compagny SONALGAZ launched studies for the construction of an EHV electricity transmission line of approximately 1,300 km directly linking the wilaya of Ghardaïa and Tamanrasset. “ This new land line of high voltage cable, the gateway to Africa, will be among the most important in the world. using the technique of continuous voltage.

In this regard, Minister Mohamed Arkab indicated that this project is part of the government's action plan 2021-2024. "This network, which would make it possible to transport 3,000 megawatts to the south of the country, is part of the aim of strengthening electricity coverage and extending it to African countries, from the border wilayas (Illizi and Bordj Badji Mokhtar) in particular towards the Niger and Mali within the framework of exchanges with these countries. "This is a strategic project for our country," he said, emphasizing the railroad project in progress.

There are no transmission lines between Algeria and Niger so this is aload of bullshit. It would take years to build transmission lines and Niger has been cut off from the World Bank and IMF to get the funds to do it. Even if there was, how would Niger pay for it because I doubt Algeria would give them electricity for free.

Nigeria cutting electricity supply is a big blow to ECOWAS. If they can do this now .... why would there be any cooperation to develop any other infrastructure project to benefit member states? If there is to be a super highway linking the .ember states.... that will now be up in the air since it can be closed if one state doesn't like something another state is doing. Knee nerk reaction by ECOWAS ... I thought they were more sensitive.... a couple is needed in ECOWAS.

traditional leaders in that region say nothing to him either....

tinubu cant do anything against niger republic....

Is Northern Nigeria still part of Nigeria? I am only asking cos Adamu and his likes seem to be supporting Niger and not Nigeria per se. Maybe religion unites the North to her sisters across the border.

Maybe na only South be the real Nigeria. Who knows?

When America congratulated the drug lord for his successful instalment Adamu mocked Peter Obi citing that American international diplomacy doesn't care about credibility of elections all they care for is who is the president. It's a pity that Adamu is now lamenting on how American interest is now pushing his principal into actions that will make Nigeria pay and also loose heavily later. He is now caught up in between supporting his inept leader or his brother neighboring country.
We keep our fingers crossed while we watch events unfold.
