Oh! Here they come... Why are you wearing clothes? You should go join the ancestors then ..

Omokomo, omo ale!

You know what is funny. Those days when they dressed half naked, there was nothing like sexual immorality. Think about it...

Whoever advocated for freedom in Nigeria did not factor in the people's penchant to abuse every opportunity. Dress casually to class has turned higher institutions of learning in Nigeria to quasi-strip clubs. Absolute freedom to teenagers is disastrous.

School uniforms should be introduced in Nigeria tertiary institutions, since the students are abusing the freedom given to them

They should ban the male students from carrying dreads.

What about those with natural dreads?

Even banning artificial dreads, the school may call braids which have saved students lives in terms of cost, dreads.

Some other students to save cost, cut their hair, relax and dye it just to look trendy and not haggard.

Good 👍 other universities should follow suit. The moral decadence in our high institutions these days is nothing to write about. I remember during our own time, we were forced to dress in corporate attire, so a uniform was introduced with that, sanctity was restored.

This is not Taraba state University, but Taraba state government secondary school. All the male should wear Jalabia and Danshiki, then the female should all wear hijab. Is the mode of dressing our educational problems?

I thought Taraba state is Christian dominated?

during my time as an undergrad, UNN precisely 2006-2010, the level of indecent dressing in high institutions wasn't as bad as it is presently, yet my faculty and many others introduced uniforms to cushion the effect, how much more now that social media has polluted every atmosphere of good moral upbringing. U won't believe as a business student those days, I never knew how to knot a Tie until those changes were made regarding dress code. We shouldn't be imitating the west on everything.

So you want uniforms to be introduced for university's students to wear? Teritary institution students should wear uniforms kwa? shocked

Face cap is part of moral decadence? Why can't the guys braid their natural hair? .. but the females can perm theirs or wear weaves? Sanctity in wearing corporate attire in a hot and humid environment with no a/c?.... that's Colonial mentality.

It's a pity that students at the tertiary level do not know to dress appropriately and have to be treated like children.

Even those who are immoral in their acts will support such archaic dress code because they think they are superior to others. Bunch of hypocrites.

Would you call an employer that requests you dress properly at work hypocrite...or a company that wants to reflect a good image?

I honestly think that this is unnecessary and unreasonable.

Does this help the students to prepare for their future,?

Policing of outfits is not what normal productive Institutions do. Instead they should work on bringing out the best in their students and ensuring that they are ready for the future and society.

At the very least it helps prepare them for employment with companies and government agenices...most of whom have dress codes, and some even have uniforms even.

Lolz your response is hilarious!

Values, ethical behaviour, creativity , drive ,passion and doggedness can do mindset is what students need.

That is why we have the rot we have in Nigeria.

People who are lazy, cannot work and do not think strategically and for the longterm.

Dress crazy but please have brains and have values and great work ethics

Well, yes, the schools can do that, and also prepare them for the reality that is dress codes when they graduate and start looking for employment.

Laughing does not change that fact, sadly.

But does a student of a tertiary university need to be compelled or told that he or she must be decently dressed at all times?!!

For a cultural society like Africa, it shouldn't even be overemphasized.

Students pay the school bills to prepare them for tomorrow.

You guys should stop complaining, seriously. If you don't like it, there are other schools with less restrictive codes. GO THERE.
