Yes she can, but it depends on the kind of soup she wish to prepare and how many people she wish to serve. Soup like okro and ugu can go.
Okoro - 50
Ugu - 50
Fish - 200
Onions - 20
Crayfish - 100
Oil, Knor, pepper and salt - 80
I have tried this, it was delicious and I was able to serve a family of 4.

@CHIMCO so if a woman can cook delicious soup with N500 you will be satisfied she can manage your home, and probably marry her? Lol. If you use that yardstick to sellect the woman you wish to settle down with for the rest of your life, I bet you will be highly disappointed. I advise, firstly with all seriousness give the matter to God. Secondly, during courtship, study the woman you have in mind closely. Thirdly, let her know your likes and dislikes and vice versa. This way you can learn to live together very harmoniously and happily. Finally play your role as the head of your home and take good care of your wife and kids. If you take good care of them, your wife will worship you and you will have a blissful marriage. Coming to your question, N500 can cook very delicious soup, but you should not expect to eat to your satisfaction all the delicacies that go with the soup such as big chicken, beef or fish.

@CHIMCO if you want to use that yardstick to determine if your fiancee can manage your home when you eventually get married, you will be highly disappointed. I advise, firstly, you seriously give the relationship to God. Secondly tell her your likes and dislikes, and vice versa. @Missy,The OP talked about just pot of soup. It's possible he has garri @ home.An 'ike' of garri is N50 btw.

@Deep soul, are u sure there are no places @ Abuja where they cut meat for as low as N250,gwagwalada,nyaya,zuba etc? Here in lekki,Ajah mkt precisely the least I've seen them sell is N500 but i know for sure that they do sell for N250 and above in places like Egbeda,Ipaja etc and for that N250 you wont get less than 6 fairly big pieces.
