No Second Term For Non-performing Govs - Pdp

Olusola Fabiyi, Abuja

The Acting National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, Alhaji Kawu Baraje, has said the party will not give its ticket to "non-performing governors" and other elected officials to run for second term.

Baraje said this when he received Gombe State Governor, Ibrahim Dankwambo, at the party's national secretariat in Abuja on Wednesday.

He said only those who performed among its elected officials would be given an opportunity to run again.

Baraje said the result of the April general elections had shown that the electorate was more sophisticated and might not vote for elected officials that did not do well during their first tenure.

He said Nigerians were prepared to vote out any political party that refused to live up to its campaign promises.

Baraje said, "We want to know how you are performing. We want to assess how you are performing so that we will be able to assess you and put you forward or otherwise in the next election, because the electorate has developed to that level.

"The awareness of the electorate today has got to the level that any political party in Nigeria in 2015 that does not perform; that doesn't have anything to show from its manifestoes, will fail."

He said the party's mechanism of assessing its elected officials had been strengthened to an extent that at any given period, assessment sheet would be given to its political office-holders.

Dankwambo said the state was a "one-party state," regretting that there was an intra-party crisis among members of the party in the state.

He urged members of the party to come together to stop the opposition from winning any election in the state.http://odili.net/news/source/2011/oct/14/821.html

PDP is just like a cult,d interest of members are paramount than the citizens.they said they are d biggest party in Africa and will rule 4 d next sixty years.i dont know what is their problem,PDD have ruled more than a decade now without solution to d country's pressing issues.PDP should be ashamed of themselves.it was made of few power brokers who determine d destiny of over 150million Nigerians.fellow Nigerians, its high time we get back our destiny 4rm their hands.Libya did it,Egypt did it,Tunisia did it,why cant we do it.God will never come down to help us,we need 2 help ourselves.

The thread is not about being foolishly partisan and asking dim questions when those much worse than anything the PDP can throw up are manning the towers in ACN states. Tell me which governor is worse than the remarkably useless Aregbesola?

Dude, go home to your party and make sure that the likes of Aregbesola will NEVER EVER be inflicted on Nigeria again. As you can see, others are taking care of their shiit, not pretending to be holy.
