You people don't know the meaning of landlocked. It only means you can't access ocean without navigate through another country. Ebonyi doesn't share boundary with Cameron, you need to pass Akwa Ibom or Benue state.

You are being honest by half, countries have joint laws on international water ways, as long you have access, treaties can be signed for ease of goods. China ans USA share international treaties on South China seas with certain stipulations

if SE becomes a country, those rivers become international waters. Treaties take over. The river that interests me the most is Imo river. It's very close to the ocean and navigable with barges. What this means is that in peace time with Nigeria, SE can have a river port and fully use it instead of importing from Nigeria.
It becomes tricky in war times.

I know things like these excite people like you because it gives you a good feeling that your perceived enemy has no access to the sea.

But below is what the United Nations law of the sea says from my research using ChatGPT

"Under the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS), a country that possesses river access to the sea does indeed have the rightful entitlement to access the sea. UNCLOS acknowledges the rights of landlocked states to enjoy freedom of passage through the territories of transit states to reach the sea, including the utilization of navigable rivers and waterways that lead to the sea, provided that such access is not unreasonably denied by the transit state. The Convention establishes principles and guidelines to facilitate the rights and access of landlocked states to and from the sea, with the aim of supporting their international trade and development."

The term “unreasonably” in the context of the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS) refers to the idea that while landlocked states have the right to access the sea through navigable rivers and waterways in transit states, this access should not be denied in an unjust or unfair manner.

In other words, transit states should not impose excessive or unreasonable restrictions or conditions on the landlocked state’s access to the sea. What is considered “unreasonable” can vary depending on the specific circumstances and agreements between the countries involved. UNCLOS provides a framework for negotiating and resolving such access issues through diplomacy and international cooperation.

The use of “unreasonably” is intended to ensure that landlocked states are not unfairly hindered in exercising their right to access the sea for trade and other purposes, while also recognizing the legitimate concerns and interests of transit states in managing their territories and resources.

If anyone tell you that the south east won’t have access to the sea if it were to become a country of its own, ask them if they live on Mars or Pluto?

If they live on Earth, they are bound by the laws of this world and not by their delusional hate driven fantasy against South East and Igbos in general.

There is no law anywhere on this earth that says a sovereign country MUST give you access to it's waterways. None.

I literally told you the law and you are typing this rubbish.

The UN Convention of laws of the seas.

If your country is a signatory to the UN, they have accepted the laws of UN. Nigeria is a signatory.

Ok now I see where you are heading. We igbos will cross that bridge when we get there.

All we need it’s just an independent Igbo country. Other issues will be handled in time.

Knowing igbos, they will exhaust all peaceful and diplomatic options first so that whatever happens after that, the international community won’t blame them.

It seems the south east was the garden of eden. God has blessed them with navigable rivers for all season farming , transport and irrigation, they have good soil for agricultural yet commissioner for agriculture are docile and indolent .

God has blessed them with oil, coal, abundant gas yet the region imports fuel from other regions and electricity.

God also blessed them with human capacity and capital but immigration is at all time peak every year

Pass Akwa Ibom or Benue state? You are truly senseless. You stay in Osun state and describe Ebonyi state for the indigenes of the area with zero knowledge.

You need more psychiatric attention than myself. This is how despicable and empty headed you guys sounds without reasoning. The man in the video I qouted said from Oferekpe River to Cameroon is about 7-8hrs. He never told you that it's by wood boat. By the way, the people their import Timber from Cameroon, which you could here them say in that video. So what's exactly your madness about?. That they import Timber from Cameroon and it's about 7-8hrs?? Or your your insinuation that it could be by wooden boat which in your wisdom is dangerous?

Actually more of hate and fear.

The truth is that they don’t want igbos to leave Nigeria and go ahead to build a far better nation that will put them to shame.

Their goal is to use propaganda to make Igbos think that leaving Nigeria is a death sentence. That’s why they always bring up the debunked landlocked propaganda.
