African Film City Project in Epe, in the Eastern part of Lagos A huge "film city" and visitor attraction project in Nigeria has reached a major milestone, following the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) between marketing and development agency Del York International Group and The Lagos State Government. The two partners signed what they described as a "monumental agreement to transform the face of the creative industry on the continent of Africa". The deal will see the state government officially back the plans, which outline the creation of a leading destination for film-making, creativity and storytelling. In 2021, Del York International appointed US-based experience design and production group, Storyland Studios, to masterplan and design the film city and entertainment industry campus. The facility is envisioned as a sanctuary of leisure, entertainment, and learning; a place where film and all types of creative industry professionals can live, work, and learn in a serene and conducive environment with best-in-class facilities intermingled with amenities and infrastructure that support a modern sustainable city. As part of the MoU, the project has been called "Kebulania" – a play on the word Alkebulan, the ancient name for Africa, which translates to 'Mother of Mankind' or 'Garden of Eden'. Linus Idahosa, president and founder of Del York International Group, said: "“The industry has long desired a home, that special place on the continent that would galvanise our young people to a new hope while igniting the fire of their creativity. “The continent’s burgeoning community of creatives have long been inspired through the magic of film and television, spiriting themselves into worlds they never thought possible, but curtailed by their immediate circumstances. 1 Like

jaxxy: The fact that a slave has stayed long in the palace does not erase the fact that he is a slave. Yorubas have been hosting you economic refugees since time immemorial but all you do is insult Yorubas. Well, that nonsense has now ended. Ballotti: Sometimes celebrate good things of others without painting everything with envy and hate. How many hospitals/schools would he build again? Gov Sanwo Olu finished uncompleted ones he inherited and even built some many more all in his first tenure alone. Some are still on various level of completion stages. Moreso, development has to be multi dimensional in a smart city. And that's what the state is aiming at. As a viable entertainment den, it's only ideal that the state provide an enabler of success for the industry and this which will in turn increase the GDP of the state as well as the IGR and HDI. GOOD move LAGOS STATE GOD BLESS LAGOS STATE 1 Like |

You and him are playing the same game of impersonating other ethnicities. And for your info, we don't hear Yoruba names in Edo state, nor in delta state, you and your Yoruba fraudsters should stop speaking in our behalf !nobody bears your "yoruba" names, it is you who beat our names! Your ancestors were slaves in Brazil who were brought to our land to settle by Europeans. You copies our culture !

South west and south east, stop swetting yourselves about southsouth, the southsouth is not with either of you, contrary to what you seem to think. The southsouth is a region in its own right either you like it or not. And actually it is parts of the lands which are currently in the south east and the south west which would join the south south due to historical affinity and sale origin (Benin kingdom) 1 Like

Hotfreezing:The story is a well known fairytale only good enough for children. And that is the level of your intellect. The first Oba of Benin lived in an era which was not recorded by history since nobody in the region had access to writing until European explorers started visiting our region from the 1400's and wrote what they saw. Their writings are still available today and consulting those papers is what we call conducting historical research. And what the Europeans w'saw was an already established Benin empire ruled over by an emperor who resided in the capital of the empire, and that capital was called Edda and later on it was called Benin city by the Europeans. Quoting stupid fairytales for children only shows your lack of education. |

Hotfreezing:The fact you can't even for one second question where the story comes from only shows you are not very well educated, it only takes a "national geographic" logo to confuse you, or a book. Mr man, when was the book written ? You can't tell me a guy who was born 39 years ago witnessed things which happened more than 700 years ago ! This is what I hate with you guys, you have no intellect but you are so convinced of your intellect that you become arrogant. Arrogant ignoramus. This ignoramus never even asked himself when the book was written. He just quotes it because it is a book, that is the level of his education. Historical research is conducted on papers written by eye-witnesses, not on papers written by millennials. 😅 Look for documents like the map below (from Emanuel Bowen in the 28th century) in which someone is literally just showing what his eyes are seeing. Many people like you confuse fairytale and history. What you are quoting is a fairytale whereas the map is history.
