Let's Pray For The Nigerian Police Force by Azibalua(f): 1:04pm On Oct 23, 2011 |
As Christians it's our responsibility to intercede for the various institutions set up by the government, the police is one such institution, most times they are faced with critical situations that they really do not know what to do, it takes only a spiritual man to understand the spiritual realm, therefore we need to pray for them that they come to the light if gods word, and also we need to pray for the sanitisation of the police force Once we start to do this we will begin to see changes the police force Say a prayer today for them, |

plappville:the whole idea about prayer tire me. Do you guys seriously think that your prayers and fasting etc will change the nigerian police force from stopping them from taking bribes and killing innocent civilians that they will eventually become a model police force like here in Britain because of prayers? |
Re: Let's Pray For The Nigerian Police Force by Nobody: 5:24am On Oct 24, 2011 |
^^ yes. The reason naija is the way it is is because there are more serious fetishists than serious Christians. There is a mystery to prayer and corporately beseeching the only Good God to come to the aid of a nation. I will try to explain: A modern time reference to this mystery is the USA(Aka America). America was once One Nation Under God. The forefathers founded the nation and principles on solid Christian values. America was a corporate entity built from the ground up with unshakeable Christian Foundations. The very civilization was built and crafted in honor of God, and God, never failing to commit to his part, made them the envy of all nations. They became the world super power, the entire world used their currency as a global reference. By the precepts of their forefathers, THIS is why the nation was so blessed and favored by God among all other nations. (They've certainly neglected these precepts now and have become sodom et gomorra incarnate, hence, like every other civilization that goes this route, begins their downfall, but that's anther story). Now the nigerian forefathers, what did they do? They were busy serving demons. Calling on demons to have free reign on their generations after them. And thus became introduced the enemies of all things good into the very core of the country generations onward. It was inevitable, the state Nigeria finds itself in. The politicians you are blaming are simply a product of a still very nasty Spiritual environment. Imagine people who go to church also going for babalawo rituals and feeling nothing wrong about it. You cannot physically shoot your way to a new spiritual environment, you can only spiritually war yourself , hence the need for prayer. In summary, the prevalence of what a nation practices determines God's favor on that nation. If we keep on having more fetish practitioners than we have true Christians crying out to God for more than just the typical "bless my pocket and make it fat" prayers, how then can naija be healed of this cancer? Surely I tell you that whatever "smart" ideas you think will solve this country's problems, if not backed by intense prayer from contrite hearts to shift the forces in place, it will fail. |

Whenever I hear religious folks talk about prayer, I interpret it as a sign of self defeat and nonchalance. Nigeria is now officialy the most religious country in the world (and no doubt, the most prayerful). Where has that got us? Armed robbers pray before going out to rob, thieving politicians are constant visitors at prayer houses, these policemen are more prayerful than YOU! If prayer was effective, Nigeria ought to be the strongest country in the world. Prayers solves nothing. It's an act of cowardice. If you want a change, then take drastic steps to bring about change. The advanced countries in the world didn't get to where they are today with prayers. The technology around you (laptops, phones,TV,GPS etc) didn't come to being through prayers. This is post isn't the work of prayer. It's from the hardwork and sleepless nights of others. Nuff said! |

Maybe we have not prayed the right way, anybody can pray yes,but then there is a right way to pray! |
Re: Let's Pray For The Nigerian Police Force by manmustwac(m): 10:38am On Oct 24, 2011 |
Azibalua:this is why I say religion blinds you from reality. Prayer to me is just an excuse to do nothing and leave everything to a superior being who dose not exist. Look at the quote I made below dose it make any sense to you? If not why? Two hands working can do more than a thousand clasped in prayer. Unknown |

Re: Let's Pray For The Nigerian Police Force by BigMeat2: 2:38pm On Oct 24, 2011 |
i think we've been praying for our leaders and those in position of authority to lead in the right way too much prayer without work is actually affecting the way things are done in the country as stated by a previous poster, we believe that by praying, automatically change will happen we need a proper and thorough re-organisation process in the NPF God will not come down to change anything in the NPF, this will have to be done by the collective responsibility of everyone in Nigeria (that is you and I). |
Re: Let's Pray For The Nigerian Police Force by blackpanda: 2:38pm On Oct 24, 2011 |
The request for "prayer" has little or no effect in changing the present predicament of the force. Why? 1. Not everybody is a christian, and since the "christian god" does not associate himself with "unbelievers", the prayer is therefore useless 2. Any form of change requires dedication to reform, hardwork and sincere desire to inspire positive results, not sitting in the four corners of your room and hoping that somehow all the "bad eggs" in the basket will suddenly turn good. You have to work towards it 3. Am yet to see any positive effect christianity has on the level of corruption in the country. Especially as the pastors, prophets and priests are the most corrupt themselves. Imagine a so called "man of God" owning 4 private jets, yet some people can barely afford to survive within his congregation. Na real servant of god be dat? 4. How exactly does the "prayer" work? Does god send an angel, or send a rain of fire or flood the police offices in order to flush out the erring policemen? 5. What about muslims, hare krishnas and members of ogboni fraternity within the force? will you pray for them too? And if yes, will you accept the prayer of an ogboni member? Basic point am trying to make is that we have to get off our lazy asses and stop expecting god to come down and do a miracle. Stop blaming god or the devil for things that are done by human beings. The fastest way to flush corruption is to do a total re evaluation of the system. We need for radical and stiff laws against the scourge. And government must show a sincere desire to fight corruption. Especially by making examples of the so called "rich and powerful". I advocate life imprisonment for any officer caught wanting! |

I grew up with this slogan engraved on my mind"Work and pray". If we want a new and better Nigerian police then we better start thinking of mass protest against the men in black and be willing to resist corrupt tendencies individually and there after pray!!!!!!!!!. Heaven help only those who help themselves. |

Re: Let's Pray For The Nigerian Police Force by TenKobo1: 3:03pm On Oct 24, 2011 |
Let's get serious, there is nothing spiritual about the illness of the Nigerian police. Why are Nigerians practising spiritism in the name of christianity, seeing demon in everything that happens around them, yet even truly godless nations do not believe or pay attention to anything that call itself a demon. The Nigerian police need a wholistic reform, every human in the uniform need a re-training and re-orientation, from the IG to the last man. The police needs to be well financed and equiped. My friend don't waste your time fasting and praying, call your government to take up their responsibilities. Someone said that our fore-fathers were busy worshipping idol gods while Americans worship the true God. There is nothing i will not read in Nairaland, our fore-fathers worshipped idol gods and with that they kept their daughters virgin till marriage, their sons knew what family name and dignity meant, thievery was never found amongst their rulers and everyone could eat freely in his neighbors house. How about today, with all your prayers and multiple churches and speaking in tongue? Can we just get real? |

Dear God. May your name be Infinitely Glorified from Everlasting to Everlasting. May your Children Taste the Richness of your Blessings and the power of your Grace in their Lives. May your Message find Good Soil on this Bad Earth to Grow and Flourish in the face of the Biting Desert Wind and Cruel Scorching Sun We come to thee Oh Father of Heaven. We seek your Face as we have done every other Friday along Ibadan/Lagos Expressway in our Millions. We have come to seek your favor and privileged attention on an urgent matter known as the Nigerian Police Force AKA NPF (No Permanent Friend) While we take time off our own Prayer Requests for Promotions, Children, Spouses, Cars, Money, DSTv, Generators, New Shoes (for those who wish to be President some day) and Special Assistant Positions in the Lagos State Government. We wish to ask for your unrelenting favor in granting our humble request outlined below 1: Grant the Nigerian Police Force the Liver to Fight Crime in all dimensions and from all perpetrators e.g Rascals and Area boys, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Rauf Aregbesola and Baba Ijebu (I hate that guy) 2: Grant the Nigerian Police Force the Grace to hold their temper preventing them from killing fast-mouthed Civilians whenever they are on duty Night or Day 3: Grant the Nigerian Police Force the Wisdom to actually solve crimes around Political Assassinations rather than blaming "Hoodlums" 5: Grant the Nigerian Police Force the Pride to stop being Body-Guards to Pastors and Preachers when they should be protecting our lives Father, oh Heavenly Father, this prayer request is different from our usual requests for our own needs, this is the NPF and we humbly ask you to pass-over our own needs and answer the cries of your children, In Jesus Name AMEN |

How can you pray for someone who pulls a gun on you? How can you pray for someone who will mount a road block only to extort money from you? How can you pray for someone that will kill and tag you a Robber? How can you pray for someone who will join and rob you? The ONLY thing is to pray against them. Curse, curse, curse, curse. Just pray to God to save and protect you as those given the power to protect you, go after your life. Woe be unto them. |
