It is expensive but that is not the unit cost. The Philippines ordered 6 Bell AH1z attack helicopters with associated equipment for $450 million including engines, hell fire II missiles, PPS, Precision guided kill systems etc

Nigeria already has an agreement with the US for the supply of 12 units and associated equipment for $1 billion.

Even the Unit cost of F-35A, F-35B, F-35C with ancillary like ground support and spare part doesn't cost up to $150 million per unit, na Bell AH1z nai won cost $450 million per unit.

The amount you quoted for the Bell AH1z from whatever source you got it is the cost of the entire supply deal and not the per unit cost

No African country fly F16 except Egypt.USA won't even sell to Nigeria.As for K-52 Alligator of Russia is one of the best in the world and Nigeria can't afford or maintain it.

Who will sell all these killing tools to naija. US wont even discuss apache not to talk of sell. If any of these machine change hand into terrorist enclave, wahala don dey be that. Make we dey manage this one like that. If well handled, even this one go cause unimaginable damage.

Those equipment are not needed by the Nigerian armed forces.
We are not fighting a conventional war with any major world powers and the cost to purchase, maintain and service those equipment are into billions of USD.
So the helicopters from Turkey suits our specific security needs and budget.
