Standing Strong on the Sterling Principles of the PDP

We must stand united and refuse to be misled by the baseless accusations and power plays orchestrated by Senator Samuel Nnaemeka Anyanwu, popularly known as Sam Daddy. His attempts to scapegoat H.E Emeka Ihedioha for his own misdeeds are not just false but are a desperate ploy to maintain his grip on the office of the National Secretary.

Let's set the record straight: before Sam Daddy embarked on his gubernatorial campaign, he made a solemn pledge to adhere to the ethics and constitution of the People's Democratic Party (PDP). He promised to resign as the National Secretary during his campaign flag-off. This commitment was not just a casual remark; it was a clear and unequivocal assurance made to Governor Peter Mbah and other PDP leaders in the South East.

But when the time came for Sam Daddy to honor his word, he conveniently forgot his pledge. Even when Emeka Ihedioha, rightfully, reminded him of his commitment, Sam Daddy chose to ignore it. Instead, he embarked on a secret mission to multiple high courts across the country, desperately seeking court orders and injunctions to shield him from removal as National Secretary.

In a twist of fate, none of the courts Sam Daddy approached granted his request. He was left frantic and grasping at straws. That's when Iliya Umar Damagum, the Acting National Chairman of the PDP, entered the picture. With promises and deals in place, Sam Daddy found newfound confidence.

Iliya Umar Damagum and the National Legal Adviser, Kamaldeen Adeyemi Ajibade, vowed to obstruct any judicial or constitutional efforts aimed at replacing Sam Daddy as National Secretary. They remained true to their word, even when PDP governors agreed to the necessary replacement.

Sam Daddy's boasts about his power and influence within the PDP are not just unfounded; they are an affront to the very principles that should guide our party. It's outrageous that he would claim superiority over the PDP leaders of the South East Zone, the South East Zonal Executive Committee, and the esteemed Governor of Enugu State, Peter Ndubuisi Mbah.

It's crucial to remember that the strength of the party lies in its unity and adherence to democratic principles. The actions of Iliya Umar Damagum, the Acting National Chairman, may very well set the stage for a political, judicial, and constitutional crisis within the PDP.

But we, as loyal PDP members, must stay resolute and not allow this disingenuous drama to distract us from our goals. Our commitment to justice, ethics, and democracy should guide our actions. The South East Zonal Executive Committee and leaders of the party from the South East deserves our support, not unwarranted blame. Time will reveal more about this issue, but let us remain steadfast in our pursuit of a better, stronger PDP.
