^what specifically was your point?

I read the link and it mentions that Buhari government
rejected IMF
increase our GDP per capita

What has this got to do with the fact that the idea of fuel subsidy is lie.

Tell  me this;
During Buhari's regime,  petrol sold for approx  N00.40k per litre, this when oil prices was about $20/barrel this is price of 40kobo /litre was without any subsidy, yet today our criminal and deceitful government are claming to subsidise petrol that is costing upto N140.00 per litre whilst selling oil at close $100/barrel.

Go and figure!

I am begining to realise that democracy can only work in Nigeria when we Nigerians understand what their rights are in a democracy.

Nigerian masses need to understand they have the right to demand that their government is accountable.

General Abacha was in power when oil prices were just $9/barrel and even then he was able to sell fuel at N11 / litre without claiming the price is subsidise.

He acknowledged that the price of fuel at N11/litre has higher than the cost of production, hence he used the proceeds to set up the Petroleum Trust Fund to maintain infrastructure in the country.

Buhari should get this into his BRILLIANT SKULL that HE CAN NEVER BE THE PRESIDENT OF THIS COUNTRY!!!
Re: Fuel prices was never subsidised, "subsidy removal" is pure deceit - Buhari by Nobody: 2:02pm On Jan 22, 2012
That may well be so.

If the elections were not rigged he would be in power today.

However, he  would continue to be the moral conscious of the nation.

I have asked this qiestion before:

Where are Nigerian students?

Nigeria does not seem have a student movement.

in most countries it is students that agitate for change in society

We Nigerians have nobody to blame but ourselves for the corruption in our country.

No subsidy but he was chairman of PTF that was formed to invest in money that was removed from subsidy by abacha?
Re: Fuel prices was never subsidised, "subsidy removal" is pure deceit - Buhari by Nobody: 7:38am On Feb 10, 2012
Abacha was not so dishonest as to call his fuel tax hikes subsidy removal.

He called it what it is fuel tax, which he then clearly demonstrated what he did with the revenue in setting up the PTF which he appointed Buhari to run.

One of the first thing the thieving Obasanjo did on coming to office was to wind up PTF, so that all proceeds of future fuel price rises could be embezzled angry

During Buhari's reign, Nigeria was able to sell fuel for approx 30 Kobo / litre, and he never claimed to be subsidising fuel.

Go figure.

With due respect brother,is it that you don't have any other thing to do other than finding reasons why your Buhari is the best and others are corrupt? Just let it rest, your man lost the election. Jeez!

Your Buahari should be more intelligent than this crapppp.

First, you seems to be the only one dragging this thread
this long since October 2011, noone else seems to be interested.
Nigerians are wiser.

Let me school you. Upstream and Downstream activities are not the same.
Unfortunately, the Shell, Mobil, Chevron, Agip etc involved in upstream activities
do not belong to Nigeria. You cannot expect to get free crude from them.
They too are in business to make money. They produce and in partnership with NNPC sell crude.
Nigeria's own 54% or so share goes into Federation Account (to be shared by all three tiers of government),
Excess Crude Accounts/SWF and 13% derativation to oil producing states.  Your Buhari analogy that all Nigeria
needs to pay for is cost of labour is outright deceit.

If you say there is no subsidy why is fuel selling for N177 (Ghana), N184 (Cameroon), N179 (Togo) and N174 (Benin)?
These are examples of countries with zero subsidy regimes.
Re: Fuel prices was never subsidised, "subsidy removal" is pure deceit - Buhari by Nobody: 5:28pm On Feb 13, 2012
There is nobody in the world who understands the Nigerian Petroleum Sector better than Buhari.

If Buhari tells you that the idea of subsidy is a lie, we better pay attention.

These countries are not net exporters of crude oil.

Compare our fuel prices with other members of OPEC.

Please explain how Buhari was able to sell fuel for N 00.30 kobo/litre whilst not claiming to subsidise fuel.

One of the characteristics of all lies, is that it is inconsistent.

The GEJ , his Finance Minister Ngozi Okonjo Iweala, Sanusi CBN governor, NNPC are not able to give the same figure when asked to quantify the level of subsidy.
