The Abia State chapter of Labour Party has decried the sacking of the Senator representing Abia Central, Sen. Darlington Nwokocha by the Court of Appeal, saying it is a judicial rascality.

Addressing newsmen in Umuahia on Sunday, the party said it is in shock that the Senator was sacked over matters of internal affairs of Labour Party, which he said judiciary cannot adjudicate on.

“We are more shocked by the rascality of the judiciary, especially muscling judgements, divisive judgements“, he said. According to him, the judgement of the Appeal Court which reversed the sacking of Hon. Amobi Ogah representing Isuikwuato/Umunneochi Federal Constituency by election petition tribunal was based on section 77 of the constitution.

“Look at that of Obi Aguocha, look at that of Ginger Onwusibe“,
he added.

He wondered where the Appeal Court judge who voided election of Nwokocha derived his power from, He said the judgement was “smuggled”, calling for the immediate release of the judgement. The party accused the Appeal Court of changing the will of the people and imposing on the people what is not their wish.

It says Sen. Nwokocha has not been removed and remains a member of the Senate, stating that the litigation was based on section 77 which no court can adjudicate on. “Why should this one (judge) be the only one after giving the first judgement reversed himself ten minutes later? “Since all the judgement of that day was based on section 77, he should reverse himself again. We know Sen. Darlington has not been removed. He remains our only Senator for Abia Central“, he stated. He applauded the judiciary for remaining firm, expressing hope that the current situation will be dealt with.

The same appeal court removed APC senator in kogi state just over a week to the guber poll
and APC is not complaining. The judgements of court in electoral disputes can never be satisfactory to both winners and losers.

They call him Darlo. I came to know about this man during the election period. Alot of good things were said about him including numerous projects he embarked on.

I pray and hope he wins at the supreme Court.

Oops! I didn't know the matter wont get to the Supreme Court. Quite unfortunate for him.

Obi has really succeeded in bastardizing the Nigerian judiciary in his region.

I don't know why the president is not taking him head on before he destroy our other revered institutions.

That guy is like a leper and has Yoruba will say, "a leper cannot milk a cow but can spill the milk".

The onus is on the president to cut him to size before it's too late.
