Hmm,
The only time we want to compare our government with the western world is in the area of demolitions and destruction

Is the government or its agencies not aware of the sales of those lands ? ( corruption)

Why don’t u try do comparison is some other aspects and see if Nigeria govt is at level with the places we run to

Mr Wahab charged Lagosians to respect the state drainage master plan to avoid property demolition.

“We will not allow individuals who have no business in the state to become an environmental nuisance and security risk.”

This final notice should not be disregarded please.

Sincerely, this is a tough decision even for the Lagos state government.

When we go through the right processes in obtaining all the necessary documentation for our property, we take away the burden to take this kind of difficult decision away from the Lagos state Government. Please let us cooperate with Lagos State Government.

In states like Anambra, you will even have to pay the government for the expense Anambra state government incurred in demolishing and removing your property.

Please obey the law in Lagos or stay back in wherever you are and don't bother to relocate to Lagos.

Here in Lagos, the law works. Please don't break the law first and hope to sort (bribe) corrupt officials . You will only push the day of reckoning forward because one day an upright person will take over and check the files meticulously like it's currently happening.
If you are ready to be law abiding, please bring your investments to Lagos state.

Until we stop being tribalistic this country won't move forward.
Igbo can't be the only one affected

Assuming I want to agree to your revisionist history, If Benin founded Lagos and Oranmiyan founded Benin then technically Lagos was founded by who?

You give people building approval then turn around to demolish the building later

Or are you saying you didn't know these people were building from foundation till finishing?

FHA told them to stop building and they continued? That's a lie!! FHA is dreaded in Festac Town if you dunno. You dare not continue building when FHA tells you to stop. I'm very sure some corrupt FHA staff together with Omo Nile sold land to people. As long as it's Festac Town, Omo Nile cannot operate solely

There is a modification going on right by my close. They have marked it twice.

The man is building a hotel in a residential area. He has extended beyond his fence.

A house was demolished in my close and two houses built in its stead. No approval. Nothing.

The fact of the matter is that we break the rules and expect that we can get away with breaking the rules indefinitely. All that is required is a strong face director with a mission to clean things up at which point you will find yourself in trouble. Relying or depending on corrupt officials (who only care about your money and not about giving you a reliable service) is not sustainable

Very sad, same people who complain that there’s flood in Lagos , that Lagos is a slum will attribute this demolition of houses blocking drainage as a tribal war.

Don't mind them, they just see everything has tribal war when they themselves know they are doing too much, they believe with money, they can always get away with everything but now that money failed them, they turned it to tribal war.

They are part of the problem we have in Lagos, imagine my area where land values around 20m to 30m just because this igbos want to turn every part in Lagos to their properties, they will offer to buy the land for 80m and making land values skyrocket everywhere in my area, even the real indigenes can't afford lands from their hometown cox of this igbos

Benins never founded Lagos. It happened that a Benin prince who's also a Yoruba became their first king cos he was influential in Lagos that time. Lagos was founded by the Aworis who are a Yoruba group. Later, other Yoruba clans like Ijebus, Egbas, Oyos, Eguns, Ijeshas etc joined Lagos.
Even the Oba of Benin na Yorubaman so what's the fuss?
It's Oranmiyan's kids that are ruling Yorubas.
And to scatter everywhere, in ancient times, Benins were descendants of Yorubas.

They should not wait till the illegal structures are completed before they start to demolish just as the useless FHA is doing. Any ongoing construction that is illegal should be brought down.

BTW, the incompetent FHA should look into the main Festac Town where almost all residential houses (block of flats) at the ground floors have been converted for business activities. Duplexes along the roads aren't spared either. They have almost converted all to commercial centres.
If you grew up at Festac Town in the 80s, 90s and early 2000s and have not been to Festac Town in years, omo you go cry. Almost everyone living in Festac is doing business. Na wa

Was born and breed in Festac Town, to go back to my hood is not something that gives me joy, it's a shadow of what it used to be. Hotels and Bars have taken over everywhere. A once very serene environment that we were raised is gone due to the commercialisation of the hood, roads are bad, now very noisy. Visited my Alma mater St. Jude's happy it's prestige is still intact.

I don't u derstqnd the State pleadings for residents to obey the laws. It should be addressing the incompetence of its enforcement agency. If the agency was doing its job not even a fence would have been erected. Didn't the agency notice fences and buildings being illegally erected? He needs investigate and focus on his agency.

But Mr Wahab sir, Lagos state Sandfilled bar beach and turn it to Eko Atalantic .

Somebody or some agency is currently sandfilling the Lagoon that flows under third mainland bridge at Iyana Oworo .

Ilubirin was sandfilled during Fashola era and they currently building “ Lagos Homes “ there now.

One question sir; won’t those waters create another paths for themselves?

They can sand fill lagoons and oceans so far they create an adequate drainage system plan to cushion floods, and the lands left for the flow of drainage isn't sold to erect buildings on...
