Till now extortion is still happening around the south east, police organization need to do something serious about extortion and corruption in the force.

It has become a systematic thing and there is a need to overhaul the system, how do we explain Mr. "Super Cop" who was a high ranking police officer caught in the web of Internet fraud, corruption and extortion, and these is the case with alot of high ranking police officers....


The police is a reflection of the society in general most Nigeria should they have same authority as the police they will likely abuse the authority the uniform gives them.....Whew!!!

With Nigerian police men, girls detained in the station are not safe, because these animals in uniform will come at night,unlock the cell to rape them.

Nigerian police officers are more dangerous at night on their stop and search points.These animals can drop an incriminating material into the vehicle of an unsuspecting and non vigilant car owner,in the course of stop and search,; just to implicate and extort.
That's why every car owner encountering police officers at checkpoint in the night must be very vigilant and observant as these animals search their vehicles.They must follow these things closely back to back.

Police have done a lot of evil, and they have killed so many innocent Nigerians; but one thing they hardly do is shoot protesters openly. Except for SARS though. Regular anti-riot police would rather fire teargas tire before using a live bullet on protesters.

But I'm open to correction if you have evidence.

Arase is the main terrorist. Go to south east and tell them.

The police has been trying to do so but keep failing. They should do better or reform

Once upon a time, IPOB was just a flag-waving, armless band of protesters but Police always had a habit of shooting live bullets at them. Police killed many of them and took hordes of them into custody, without trial. They felt too proud and arrogant to dialogue with them and pursue a more civil negotiation to assuage the root cause of their agitation. Now they've become beastly monsters. Why does Nigeria make monsters out of her citizens and then turn around to wonder what went wrong? Now the country is sacrificing money and personnel to solve the problem they could have solved with diplomacy. When will Nigeria learn?

Surely the table will still turn again and people like you will be calling UN and USA.... there is no single justification for anyone's death, the police officers killed might even be innocent of all the allegations levelled against the entire police force. Mr. Solomon Arase, we hear your plea but you must start by going back to the police to tell them to value the lives of our people first. We all know the genesis of the problem so no pretense will be entertained. Below are a list of the crimes of the police in the SE and the damages it did among our people.
1. Too many 'accidental discharges' that has rendered a lot of our families fatherless and our women, widows. No single police man involved in those killings have ever been jailed for those crimes.
2. Too many young men have been killed simply for participating in any protest whether for secession or against a particular failure of the government. None of those killed were animals or without families. Families have been mourning for decades in Nigeria due to police extrajudicial killings. Killing our young men and feeling that nothing can be done about it is a farce that has been proven today.
3. The militarization of the SE coupled with the extreme extortion of motorists something South Easterners have known for many decades. It paints a picture of an occupied region and we all know what follows whenever a living thing feels cornered. Even a herbivorous goat will turn carnivorous under such circumstance.
4. Lastly, the selective amnesia of the police in the SE is obvious even to the blind. Not a single Fulani herdsmen militia has ever been arrested in the SE but we've been counting our dead from their operation of which there are videos of their destruction. The recent discovery of over 50 decayed and decaying human corpses in the Fulani run Lokpanta Cattle market did not see any report from the Nigeria Police. Of course the lives of our people never mattered to them. If it were an Igbo run market elsewhere was involved in a similar situation, we all know how the Police, Army and every government security arm would have been up in arms baying for Igbo blood. As I type this, there's no single investigation on-going to discover the identity of those corpses and their killers. Everything has been swept under the carpet while our people have been left to mourn in utter dejection.

If these four points are worked on, the police can redeem their image in the SE and most of the hunters hunting them will become calm. However, with our experience with any Nigerian organization when it comes to our affairs in the SE, we don't expect to see any positive change, hence, the rat race continues until the Nigerian question is attended to and solved.
