This is not true. There are more men in the banking sector than females. What happens is that most Frontline officers (customer service unit, tellers, HR and marketers) are mostly females so you tend to see and interact with them more. Behind the scene it's virtually male... infotech unit, fund transfer unit, internal control unit, financial control unit, legal unit. Let's not even talk of Drivers, dispatch riders and security. There's no bank in Nigeria were women are even 40%

Very wrong info. This is my industry and I have worked in so many banks. Males outnumber females in a ratio of 7:3 in many Nigerian banks. Maybe u are counting the tellers in d banking halls who just pay and receive money. Those are mainly outsourced contract staff. In most marketing teams u many not even find a single woman. Marketing is not about begging man to bring money, it's about convincing customers that u can help them push their transactions however complex they may be and men do that better than women. And d serious business men don't want Female relationship managers who would be attaching emotions to serious biz transactions, they prefer men who will treat their requests without beggi beggi sentiments hence most banks actually use men for the role of relationship managers. Female branch managers or regional managers are the exceptions not the rule

There is no bank that employs motr women that men. You should say you know banks that have more women in their branches and at best you will mention Zenith Bank. You never went to their training school and saw more women. Neither did you see their staff gender ratio. You don't know any bank that employs more women. No bank employs more women. For starters, banking test is usually passed more by males in STEM!

This number is false, I can beat my chest and say no bank in Nigeria has more female employees than male. Take any bank you want, download their financials, there's always a section for employee mix. Educate yourself and stop passing wrong information to the general public.

If you were indeed a banker in two top banks, you would also know where to get this information. Read through the thread and you will see the gender ratio for TOP banks. Even FBN with most coverage has a whoopings 61% to 39% of male to females. So which top bank did you work in that employs more females?

I know there were times it seem like there were more females getting employed by banks. Maybe that was to balance of an existing gender disparity or a new marketing drive. Not a big deal.
