A Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), Femi Falana, on Wednesday said there is no division in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to warrant the members of the Rivers State House of Assembly to dump the party for the All Progressives Congress (APC).

On Monday, 27 lawmakers said to be loyal to the immediate past governor of the state, Nyesom Wike, dumped the party on Monday for the All Progressives Congress (APC). However, two of the lawmakers were said to have returned to the PDP.

A day after, the PDP asked Edison Ehie, speaker of the Rivers assembly, to declare the lawmakers’ seats vacant immediately.

The same trap Wike has been avoiding is what his foolish followers fell into.

Gov SIM was too hasty in demolishing the Assembly Complex. The 27 or so lawmakers had already shot themselves on the foot thereby losing every right to enter the complex or perform any legislative duty. That is the end of the road for them.

Their letter of resignation or defection had to be addressed to their reapective PDP ward Chairmen and then State and National. The process of their defection was faulty and might be declared null and void in court. But that would spare lost of their seats in the HOA
