Story As-usual, over 400 people coordinated themselves and attacked a community and killed over 200 persons and ran away. What a country? The main question should just be, how did they acquired those weapons they used and Government is not aware? Nigeria army should just shoot any person that is involved in this act to prevent future occurance.

If nothing serious is done, such a thing will repeat itself in six months time. Poor people have really suffered in this country.

Government should not romance with the people that is involved. Eye for Eye is the best option on this.

I just traveled from Abuja to Enugu and I maybe wrong but I think I encountered over 100 police/army/air force/ agricultural inspector/ agbero check points. But majorly check points mounted by security personnel. I moved from Enugu to Anambra same experience of multiple check points some less 500 m to another. Many are just collecting money from road users brazenly and openly. And nobody is say anything. IGP is just blabbing in Abuja. COAS or CDS is saying something in Abuja and officers are doing something totally different.

Why don't we have these density of check points in these know flash points? Why ? When we did a project in those axis, you hardly see check points even though you hear stories suggesting that all is not so well in these communities.

The security guys really need to step up their game. They need to let us know what they want for this nation. An attack for over 48hrs, yet no aerial patrol to at least deter these marauders and give the locals confidence to resist them. So terrible
It's same thing from Abuja to Jos. I don't think you can travel 10 minutes straight without a check point. But as usual, we know these checkpoints are just eye service.
I think Plateau state government should summon the courage to establish something similar to Amotekun in her domain and have it back by a bill passed in the state assembly. It's their responsibility to secure their people. They should not just sit on their palms and watch as this happens every year.

Majority of the herdsmen are from the displaced areas of Mali. Technically they are military grade militia, so their tactics and ability to strike is Swift anf efficient. Now the question how will the military with individuals of the same extraction handle such militias. Yes there's what we call the cause and effect, and cost of engaging these militias. Majority of concerns from the military high echelon is opening up another front that can be tagged as minor front. Also what's not helping is that the settled Fulani tribe in the state are working hand in hand via sympathy.

The evolution of this crisis is pointing to pockets of militias that will come up as a result of unchecked killings. Within certain agencies personnel's of certain tribal extraction are shuffled to prevent any form of unsanctioned shadow or covert operations. Such covert operations will involved channeling of weapons to affected communities.

Now the thing is once this pandora box is opened it will be hard to close since whispers will echo across the land to groups that have been bidding their time. Once weapons starts flowing it now puts the entire nation in a volatile state.
Re: Terrorists Deposited Arms Ahead Of Attacks On Plateau Communities, Says Senator by sslcrypt: 1:47pm On Jan 01
The Nigeria issue is a very volatile one because leaders lost the will power to actually make it work. Now we have elements that have played the issues to now dance to their tone. In a normal environment such individuals would have been arrested or be eliminated covertly.

When it is not a war zone and its never tactical for u to deploy all ur forces to one region if u do and the enemy seize that opportunity to take other sides what will u do?
that's not possible sir, our major security problem is in the North and south east, they can employ more hands then deploy them to strategic regions
Re: Terrorists Deposited Arms Ahead Of Attacks On Plateau Communities, Says Senator by esemes256: 2:07pm On Jan 01
I thought the DSS, SSS, Police, etc are supposed to gather intelligence regularly and use the information they have to prevent such terrorist attacks from taking place?
Is there any active security architecture in this country?
I need to know please.

Thanks. Yea from Abuja to Jos, we have these check points that don't really serve the full purpose.

But from Jos-Barkin Ladi-Bokkos and Jos-Barki Ladi-Shendam-Pankshin, known flash points, you don't have these heavy concentration of check points even if to act as some kind of deterrent

Hudson Institute researcher James Barnett has been covering this issue in his "current trends in Islamist ideology' edited series. He is also at the center for democracy in Abuja.

Nigeria is seeing an interaction between NE jihadists and NC/NW bandit gangs. In a bid to frustrate the intense NE anti-terror program they have worked to present a more diffuse challenge to the authorities.

There's local bandit warlords in the NW, Plateau and Nasarawa working on their own Accord but nevertheless supported and influenced by NE jihadists to work against the Nigerian state. They're attacking the most vulnerable communities; rural Muslim and peri-urban Christian ones because they are sure of a distant state in the former and a laxity from the general public, due to religious chauvinism, for the latter.

For e.g. a jihadist called Sadiku who was part of the Darul Salam commune in Niger State that was broken up in 2009, re-emerged in the past few years looking for bandits to partner with in NW and NC states. He would ultimately join up with Ali Kachala to lease his men for the train attack in 2022. The one we all saw, with dismay, on here. Some of you might have not noticed but they did a de-railing as a test before the main attack. It was reported as a failed attack. But was a test on manipulation of the rail tracks.

Ali Kachala was the bandit whose gang shot down the air force jet during that period. They would use the same team and burst Kuje prison. An attempt on Wawa cantonment in Niger state will however fail. They used the hostages from the train attack to get their family members who were held by the state. And in Kuje they freed many of their brothers/partisans.

That's an example of what's going on in the country. Ansaru, JAS and ISWAP are looking to partner with a myriad network of bandit lords who are in it for plunder, while their jihadist partners hope to gradually indoctrinate them for a more intense struggle against the Nigerian state. Northern Christians are for lack of a better term, the sacrificial lambs in this. The rural Muslims are no exception. But these sorts of attacks in Plateau, Nasarawa and Benue hold great symbolic significance for networks that reach as far as Mali and Burkina Faso. There you have ISGS & JNIM militants who are seeing NW as a platform for contiguity regarding all regional islamist activity.

Nigerian leadership across all parties is quite lost in political battles and party politicking. All while sitting on a ticking time bomb. This has the potential of RSF level of state destabilization between the 2030 to 45 range. It's not Tinubu, Obi or Wike that'll destroy Nigeria. Neither is it low-intensity IPOB vandalism and criminality. These challenges are not competent against Nigerian institutions or military might.

To end, I'd like to leave you with a report from the Africa parks network archives in 2021/22: Two park rangers in northern Benin met a Convoy of gun-wielding men on motorcycles. The men told them not to worry. That they had no problem with Niger. They had gotten sorta lost and needed help on one thing. He asked the ranger " where's the way to Nigeria? "

Btw are the mods aware that the term 'j.anjawee-d' is substituted for "ap.c" the political party after posting. I put dots and the hyphen to cancel that effect.

So why can't they relocate all these army personnel that use to oppress Civilians to go inside those bushes and fish the terrorist out, because all I know is that they stay in bushes then come out to attack people at night, or better still use drone to know their location and how to counter whatever they plan

Drones are visible and audible. Cheap motion detection sensors can be installed. Mass movement in the night will trigger silent alarms and security forces will be alerted.

This insecurity issues will soon blow up in our face, if we are not careful!

Issues like this has been happening?
Senate will summon this and that,

Tommorow they will set up a committe to look into this and that
Til another one occur!

Fellow nigerians, do not see this as a Plateau attack,
Dont say thank God its north!
Farmers cant go to farm!
Food is presently expensive

Its a chain reaction!
Dont just keep quiet!

If tomorrow theres nothing left in the north!
They will start moving to places we consider Safe Haven now!

Dont just keep quiet
