NNPCL delivers fourth 1million barrel of crude oil to Dangote Refinery

The Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation Limited (NNPCL) has delivered an additional one million barrels of crude oil to the Dangote Refinery, marking the fourth such delivery in a series over the past few weeks.

The company disclosed this in a statement, adding that the fifth consignment is well underway to kick start the 650,000 barrels per day Dangote Petroleum Refinery.

An excerpt of the statement reads below,

“Preparations are in top gear for the commencement of production in Dangote Refinery, as the petrochemical company has received the fourth crude shipment of, one million barrels of bonny light crude supplied by the Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation Limited (NNPCL), and expecting the fifth crude shipment, anytime from now.

“The fresh one million barrels of crude was the fourth consignment to be delivered to the Dangote facility out of the six million barrels of crude being expected by the world’s largest single-train refinery.”

Backstory
Last December, Dangote Refinery reported a significant milestone by receiving one million barrels of Agbami crude grade from Shell International Trading and Shipping Company Limited (STASCO), a major player in Nigeria’s trading landscape and a global heavyweight transacting over 8 million barrels of crude oil daily.

This delivery is part of a broader initiative, as the facility has now welcomed a total of four shipments, each comprising one million barrels of bonny light crude, courtesy of the Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation Limited (NNPCL). The first supply came in on December 8, 2023.

Anticipating the commencement of production, the refinery aims to secure a total of six million barrels of crude oil, as outlined in a strategic plan reported by Nairametrics.

Prior the NNPCL had articulated its strategy to provide the Dangote oil refinery with six shipments of crude oil in December, aligning with a one-year agreement for testing purposes.

More Insights
Dangote Refinery obtained a license in November 2023, permitting the refining of over 300,000 barrels of crude daily, according to statements by Alhaji Aliko Dangote during an interview conducted on the sidelines of the Saudi-Nigeria business roundtable in Riyadh.

The refinery’s production capabilities are poised to yield 27 million liters of diesel, 11 million liters of kerosene, and 9 million liters of jet fuel. It is positioned to receive crude not only from other Nigerian producers but also from the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL).

Projections for the Dangote Refinery indicate a substantial annual revenue generation of $27 billion, as reported by Nairametrics.

In addition to standard products, the refinery is set to manufacture specialized items like naphtha and polypropylene, expected to catalyze growth in industries such as cosmetics, plastics, and textiles.

Tailored to process Nigerian crude oil, the refinery boasts versatility in handling crude from diverse sources, including various African nations, the Middle East (e.g., Arab Light), and the United States (Light Tight Oil), among others.

Company data reveals a noteworthy surge in motor gasoline (petrol) production, forecasted to rise from virtually zero to approximately 249,000 barrels per day (b/d) by 2026, with projections exceeding 300,000 b/d by 2033.

A whopping annual revenue of $27 billion!! And 20% of this company belongs to FG.

The shares of this company stock will be listed on Nigeria Stock Exchange so that an average Nigerian can have a piece of the company.

This is a huge milestone and I am very proud of everyone who made this possible. What seemed important in the eyes of the unpatriotic naysayers became a reality and they are still in shock at the audacity of hope that this huge project will become a reality.

Congrats to the vision bearer, Alhaji Aliko Dangote, GCON, President Buhari, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and other patriotic Nigerians.
God bless Nigeria for ever! Check my signature for free stuffs!

Someone I know who works there was telling me yesterday that the refinery is still under construction, saying the refinery will start working optimally in 2025 and that the Indians who are the managers are hoarding information from the Nigerians I was flabbergasted 😭

While this is commendable...

A refinery that can process 650,000bpd will need a stock of at least 1 million barrels of crude delivered every 2 days.. it took NNPC weeks to deliver this..

Anyways their license is around 300,000bpd..all we are waiting for is for the refinery to begin selling products

Story Story. They should stop disturbing us with all this propaganda. Anyone can store crude oil in tanks. The only announcement they should make is when production of refined products has commenced, and when said products will be delivered to the market.

The issue here is the end-product form the refinery. How would this affect the market? Will this reduce the price of the product? The price of the products is the cheapest in the world market (going by the exchange rate). The second issue is that Dangote is avoiding the PMS market (but rather DPK, and other unregulated products) because the political and economy implications of the business and profitability is too difficult to input the productions profits. So smuggling continues and cannot be stopped.

The solution to all these is the improvement in the wages of the worker. It is important to give the worker a living wage because it is important to ensure an effective demand and empower the population and demand for ensure industries remain operational. The fear of inflation is a big issue.

God help us.

God bless Dangote
God bless Baba Buhari
God bless Emefiele
God bless Lagos State
God bless Nigeria.
Let me start 2024 with prayers for My country.
Alhaji Dangote will continue to soar in every area of his life, this Refinery is not a game changer, but a life saver to Nigeria and West Africa.
Like someone said in another thread, Asiwaju is the luckiest President ever to rule Nigeria, but it's not always about luck,it's about planning, determination and Persistence.
Although many people may not be too happy with Mr Emefiele but his persistence and the backing he gave the Refinery will be appreciated in a few years from now.
I always wondered what would have happened to Nigeria if there was no Dangote Refinery and we continued importing fuel again in 2024, Seriously Nigeria would have sunk into a black hole.
I'm sure the citizens would have rebelled this year against the hardship if we had continue to import all our fuel.
Dangote Refinery is a life saver, not only will it address all our fuel demands as a nation, but the foreign exchange it will save us a country is unimaginable, that's why I'm sure Nigeria will certainly get cooler in 2024 according to Daddy GO of RCCG.
I keep ringing the bell everytime I comment, Ibeju-lekki and Ogun waterside local Government are about to explode in Investment in 2024,only the wise will understand.
Someone asked the other day, what Investment will come to these areas and I shudder at some people's ignorance.
Joey Zaza company already has a factory positioned very close to the Refinery blending Engine oil,Even a governor from one of the Eastern state has a functional Depot already selling petrol. That's just a tip of what's coming.
There will be schools, hospitals, relaxation spots, polyurethane companies, plastic companies,Fuel stations, pharmaceutical companies, banks and many more which will start opening factories or branches because of the Refinery.
A word is enough for any eagle-eyed investor.
Check my signature if you desire to invest in Properties around the Refinery.
God bless Nigeria.

NNPCL has used future crude to collaterize loans or should I say taken crude sales payment in advanced.
At a time we need to earn and repay with crude, selling Dangote crude is hard.

shocked

By implication you're saying at an annual revenue of $27 billion, in one year the CAPEX would have been recovered.

This is massive, the investment is a humongous cash cow.

Meanwhile Op hope you're in no infringement for using Obama's coinage in your write-up grin
