The children of the poor masses you mean, Because, I don't see Seyi Tinubu or Yusuf Buhari or their grandchildren paying any debt.

Not even Obasanjo's great grandchildren.

Let the children of the poor brace up for the payments.

Dude did you see Seyi Tinubu voting??

Or did you see Yusuf Buhari voting??

Or you just want to talk nansense this morning

The national debt is inclusive of debt owed by sub national entities. This year alone, Abia state planned to borrow N200b local debt and N200 foreign debt. That makes it N400b debt this year alone. The state has about N200b debt already from previous administration and the projected revenue is less than N150b.

So you see, Buhari and Tinubu are not the only problem. Governors like Alex Otti, Mbah of Enugu etc with outrageous budget deficit plan are part of the problem.
is Alex otti borrowing to pay recurrent expenses or capital expenses?

You can't blame Obidients for moving closer to Tinubu while he's destroying the economy. That's a silly thing to say. It's like saying you saw your enemy coming and you ran inside a burning building. Are you not mad?
it amazes me the way people reason... for them it's about an individual rather than the good of the nation at large.. I am not against anyone's support for an individual but please support with sense... praise them when they do well and call them out when they fail or mess up... that's they only way the nation can grow, not blind and unreasonable support

How come you have been very comfortable with these humongous debts but suddenly see the light in 400bn Abia debts?

You are replying the chief APC zombie on this forum. His hypocrisy stinks to high heavens.

Give it to baba he has always meant well for Nigeria he had the best economy team in the history of Nigeria, nepotism was never in is agenda and he delivered, picked a Yaradau has is successor who was free from corruption but death struck and goodluck blew the golden opportunity by handing over power out of fear to a catastrophy and now Nigeria has gone from frying pan to fire. Baba obasanjo is a legend!!! what one thousand Tinubu's cannot do baba has done

It’s funny that indomie generation takes this guy serious a lot, it’s not their problem though cos they didn’t witness his era n how this man stole with reckless abandon

They are calling buhari n tinubu derogatory names but they don’t know d history of Halliburton scandal this man n atiku orchestrated

They don’t know d story of inec n maurice iwu under obj, if their Peter obi had contested when obj was president then they will know tinubu n buhari are angels

When it comes to debts, OBJ has every right to speak.

Under his administration, Nigeria's debts were cancelled and our debts reduced dramatically.

Foolish governments after him decided to start borrowing afresh.

I disagree respectively sir!

Yoruba & fulanis future generations will pay Nigeria debts. The Igbos are leaving this cesspool of corruption for y'all. One way or the other we are leaving.

During negotiations, all accrued debts will be bore 80% by people where projects tied to the debts is positioned. So may una dey support crooks, una future generations go pay!

For instance, how do we Igbos pay for Chinese debt used in building railway to Niger republic? Una mumu never do una kwo?
Make una dey support crooks and bad leadership thinking una dey do Igbos!

Coming generations can't pay Nigeria's debt, Sir.

They can never afford it.

The hole your generation has dug this nation into is a bottomless one... You all have sold the future of generations unborn.

Only a merciful debt forgiveness by the creditors will save the future generations.

That's why every wise and wealthy Nigerian is already securing the futures of his or her children and children's children in developed nations without the restrictions to growth burying this nation into oblivion.

Your last statement got me. It’s a crime to be born poor in this Nigeria. No hope and no one is coming to help. The future is so bleak. The wealthy are already spending millions of dollars buying up passports of strong countries for their children. They know there is no hope for now.

Tinubu is the one borrowing, Buhari borrowed and left so they most have had a plan to secure their 10 generations unborn. Just to make sure their children don't partake in the payments.

Or na your papa borrow the money?

Dear friend, ignore these anti-japa liars...!

Let's face the truth!

Every elected leader and politician in Nigeria, starting from President Tinubu down to Peter Obi have all given up on Nigeria long ago.

They merely contest to fulfill their life ambitions, and add to their personal achievements.

The last President we had that truly worked for this nation was Obasanjo, and Late. Yar'adua to some extent.

Naija might be lost for good!

This is not pessimism... Nothing short of a bloody revolution will reboot this nation.

Obasanjo is the first major theft in Nigeria. Can he explain how 2.8 billion went into Idi Amin Dada hand.

The 1naira was equivalent to 1 pound Sterling, which interprete that he stole 2.8 Pond Sterling. He must return the money now.

States borrow because the alternative is massive taxation.

Which would not work in Nigeria, (even though it is a good idea) because most people are too poor to pay taxes.

Attracting investment does not work, because

1.Low subsidised prices for power means that capacity to provide power is too weak

2.Poor tax revenue means poor revenue to build things like roads, and even intra-state railways.

So, the alternative to supplement the low oil revenue is borrowing. (Resource control would only benefit a few states). Otherwise, mass taxation, which would lead to Aba women's revolution. (Not riot, revolution).

So, tell Obidients like Obasanjo who should know better to stop making political noise about the borrowings.

We won’t have to. We just need to dissolve the old failed state and create a new one. No one hold a failed company to debt. The lenders will simply count their losses and move on.
