Righthussle: Na you actually no know who be your president. This same NLC president who didn't like Tinubu is now giving him a vote of confidence, you should know that just like you he once didn't know Tinubu, but now he knows what he's capable of. matify83:Government is not serious and not ready to pay any form of wage increment. If they were, new minimum wage issue will be sorted out in just one week in January and still be ready to be paid to workers by January ending. 1 Like |

An increase in the national minimum wage without a corresponding improvement in the socio-economic (security, production, revenue etc) indices of the country would be an exercise in futility. How many state governments and SMEs can afford to pay the present minimum wage? How does the government plan to isolate or manage the expected increase in minimum wage with the inevitable increase in other goods and services? What visible and work groundwork has been laid to boost rapid industrialisation to facilitate local production across all major sectors to drive the expected increase in the minimum wage especially for non government workers? Are there plans by the government to cut cost of governance? What plans are in place to increase the IGR of the country especially through expansion of the taxable population, primarily through linking income-assets to tax remittances? Finally, how do you plan to curb corruption? |
