fergie001: What a reactionary government, this is a daft policy from a clueless government. Instead of finding solutions which includes recycling and proper waste disposal systems, all you can come up with a childish law banning the sales of a product which you know that the company producing them are employees of labour and also paying taxes. What an economically wasteful and backward policy. 1 Like 1 Share |

Dealers of that product should look for a competent lawyer and sue the Lagos state government at any federal high court outside Lagos. If only them they pay their taxes. This must be done with immediate effect to get court injection restricting them from enforcing it. It's only in a military system of government that the tarm "with immediate effect" used to be effective. |

There should be a technology that can grind those things to power. This is laughable. The ocean will still bring them from other states or country. Think wella. 1 Like |

madridguy:Some guys are so sentimental in their opinions. Try and always see the environmental nuisance and pollutions created by those plastics. It is the government's responsibility to protect lives, properties and environment. People should preach against such ugly acts and not support them because those random used and dumped plastics have blocked water pipes and drainage systems in Lagos thereby causing huge problems along waterways. Nobody is saying anything bad about the plastics, but people are quick in critizing government. |

fergie001:we all think of poor people, we all complain of environmental disasters ad in should we not always let government do there duties. New opportunities will awake from this decision let us too use our initiatives and seek safe solutions to our environment. This are hard decisions. |

Anguldi:Lagos is recycling as much as they can. Why should it be YOU that will add to their stress? All manufacturers of this Styrofoam packs should be made to also recycle the used packs in their factories. If they don't have a recycling plant, then shut the factory down. |

This is long overdue. Styrofoam packs make up the bulk of debris clogging drains during flooding. Since lagosians cannot be counted on to dispose of Styrofoam responsibly, this is the only other option. |
