Trump: We beat Haley 'so badly' in Iowa
Former President Trump gives remarks to supporters after his New Hampshire GOP primary win.

MANCHESTER, N.H. - Former President Donald Trump did it again.

Eight days after he crushed the competition in Iowa's low-turnout Republican presidential caucuses, Trump quickly defeated Nikki Haley - his final remaining major rival for the GOP nomination - in Tuesday's New Hampshire primary.

Fox News projected Trump would win the primary just a few minutes after the final polls closed in New Hampshire.

"I'm very honored by the result," Trump told Fox News Digital's Brooke Singman in a statement.

Haley said in a speech to supporters in Concord, New Hampshire after the race was called that "I want to congratulate Donald Trump on his victory tonight. He earned it and I want to acknowledge that."

FOX DIGITAL EXCLUSIVE: TRUMP REACTS AFTER NEW HAMPSHIRE VICTORY

When asked if he felt Haley would suspend her campaign, Trump told Fox News Digital that he didn't know but "she should."

But as the votes continued to be tabulated, the former president's lead over Haley hovered roughly at an eight to eleven point margin, below what most of the final public opinion surveys conducted ahead of the primary had suggested.

And Haley emphasized her campaign would continue.

"Now you’ve all heard the chatter among the political class. They’re falling all over themselves saying this race is over. Well, I have news for all of them: New Hampshire is first in the nation. It is not last in the nation. This race is far from over."

Trump, speaking to supporters in Nashua, New Hampshire about an hour later, argued that Haley "ran up to the stage all dressed up nicely" and delivered "a speech like she won. She didn't' win. She lost."

"Let's not have somebody take a victory when she had a very bad night. She had a very bad night," Trump emphasized.

For Haley, a former two-term South Carolina governor who served as U.N. ambassador in the Trump administration, the New Hampshire primary was seen as her best and possibly last chance to slow down or derail the former president's march towards renomination.

New Hampshire – where independent voters who make up roughly 40% of the electorate can vote in either major party's contest and have long played an influential role in the state's storied presidential primary – was considered fertile ground for Haley. And Haley spent plenty of time and resources in the state, and secured the influential endorsement of popular Republican Gov. Chris Sununu of New Hampshire.

With Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis dropping out of the race on Sunday, a GOP presidential field that topped a dozen candidates last summer is now down to two major candidates.

"Now we’re the last one standing next to Donald Trump. And today we got close to half the vote. We still have ways to go, but we still keep moving up," Haley emphasized.

Haley's home state of South Carolina holds the next major contest in the Republican calendar - but the primary isn't until Feb. 24. Haley repeatedly insisted in recent days that she would be marching on to South Carolina.

And Haley on Tuesday night stressed that "there are dozens of states left to go. And the next one is my sweet state of South Carolina."

A source in Haley's political orbit told Fox News that there are "now two states where Trump got barely half the vote. That's incredibly weak for an incumbent."

For Trump, the victory in New Hampshire following his big win in Iowa moves him another step closer to his goal of winning back the White House.

At the dawn of 2023, the former President was the only declared candidate in the race for the Republican nomination, but he was far from a sure thing.

A year later, the former president once again holds massive sway over the party. Helping to boost his standing - Trump's legal difficulties.

Trump made history last year as the first former or current President to be indicted for a crime. But his four indictments, including charges he tried to overturn his 2020 presidential election loss to President Biden, have only fuelled his support among Republican voters.

Whoever wins the next American election will determine how the 2027 elections in Nigeria will be.

That’s why I want Trump to win.

A Trump will not tolerate a drug baron rigging himself back to power again.

May Trump succeed!

Maybe they will send MC Oluomo to help rig for Biden.

It was not a poor showing at all.

NH is an open primary. In fact only 49% of GOP primary voters identify as Republicans. Even at that Trump won by over 11 points.

There are many democrats and democrat - leaning independents that voted for Haley who will all vote Joe Biden in November, even if Haley is the GOP nominee.

Iowa caucus is one of the most complicated ....it usually goes down to counting second or third choices to win...but Trump won it on first choice count and won every single county but one. That is a landslide! Except you are addicted to losing or being disingenuous, Trump had a good night.

In South Carolina Haley will be embarrassed by the margin of her loss if she stays on....there are not many open primary states coming up soon.

It was an horrendous outing my guy.
Didn't they project that criminal trump will win by 60+%, as in 22 points over?

Criminal trump is cooked goose and he is bleeding voters. President Biden is doing so great with domestic issues even the border (that Republicans are sabotaging), so there's really nothing criminal trump is campaigning on except Immunity.
The criminal will lose woefully in November and we are still in January.
The trials haven't even started.

grin grin grin

I don't think you get it.

Among Republican voters Trump got over 70% support.

In the US people do tactical voting during open primaries...Republicans did it too against Hillary....where there is open primary people vote the other party in order to influence the choice.....Democrats voted Trump in 2016 GOP open primaries because they thought it would be easier to win against Trump.

Interestingly 6% of the votes cast in NH GOP primaries were democrats....who are assumed to have overwhelmingly if not totally voted Haley....

If you take 6% from Haley you are getting close to the higher end of what polls predicted i.e. 13% - 30% margins range across multiple polling. Almost every polling predicted a double digit margin win for Trump...and he delivered with over 11 %.....You seem to choose one pollster to make a bias argument.

National polling between Trump and Biden as at today shows that Trump will win in November...of course November is far....but Trump is where he needs to be politically.

You are not tuned to reality because if you did you'll know he's been a perrenial loser. This doesn't need too much talk.

Just ask yourself if criminal trump is doing anything to bring in new and undecided voters? He's only commanding the maga republican who make up that 70% you talking about. I understand these are polls with sample of people polled, but if you are living in reality you'd know his standing now is much worse than he was at his 2nd impeachment, before Jan 6th attempted coup and Insurrection.

Mind you we have two critical federal criminal conspiracy and obstruction of justice cases ahead for criminal trump (also harbingers with his mental acuity and health). I suppose someone living in reality will put that in retrospect.

We can all post dueling polls and I'll show you President Biden's strengths with independents, young voters and now surprisingly, seniors. But that doesn't change the reality, what is criminal trump doing to bring in new voters to the republican tent?

If you are too shy to say that in fear, then you are in a cult.

Criminal trump is losing in November by even more margins, even if the opponent will be Pres. Biden's Shoes.

As the South Carolina Primary Election looms on February 24, Haley’s home advantage seems to dissipate into the ether, with a mere 20% of likely GOP Primary voters swayed by her local ties.

Trump, on the other hand, continues to ride high with an 82% approval rating among the state's Republicans, overshadowing Haley’s gubernatorial approval by more than 20 points.

Trump Wins South Carolina Primary, Easily Defeating Nikki Haley In Her Home State
February 25, 2024

Haley is facing growing pressure to leave the race but says she’s not going anywhere despite losing the state where she was governor from 2011 to 2017.

Former US President Donald Trump won South Carolina’s Republican primary on Saturday, easily beating former U.N. Ambassador Nikki Haley in her home state and further consolidating his path to a third straight GOP nomination.

According to the Associated Press, Trump has now swept every contest that counted for Republican delegates, adding to previous wins in Iowa, New Hampshire, Nevada and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

Haley is facing growing pressure to leave the race but says she’s not going anywhere despite losing the state where she was governor from 2011 to 2017.

A 2020 rematch between Trump and President Joe Biden is becoming increasingly inevitable.

Haley has vowed to stay in the race through at least the batch of primaries on March 5, known as Super Tuesday, but was unable to dent Trump’s momentum in her home state despite holding far more campaign events and arguing that the indictments against Trump will hamstring him against Biden.

The Associated Press declared Trump the winner as polls closed statewide at 7 p.m. That race call was based on an analysis of AP VoteCast, a comprehensive survey of Republican South Carolina primary voters. The survey confirmed the findings of pre-Election Day polls showing

“I have never seen the Republican Party so unified as it is right now,” Trump declared, taking the stage for his victory speech mere moments after polls closed. He added, “You can celebrate for about 15 minutes, but then we have to get back to work.”

South Carolina’s first-in-the-South primary has historically been a reliable bellwether for Republicans. In all but one primary since 1980, the Republican winner in South Carolina has gone on to be the party’s nominee. The lone exception was Newt Gingrich in 2012.

Trump was dominant across the state, even leading in Lexington County, which Haley represented in the state Legislature.

Many Trump-backing South Carolinians, even some who previously supported Haley during her time as governor, weren’t willing to give her a home-state bump.

“She’s done some good things,” Davis Paul, 36, said about Haley as he waited for Trump at a recent rally in Conway. “But I just don’t think she’s ready to tackle a candidate like Trump. I don’t think many people can.”

At Haley headquarters on Saturday night, supporters waved her signs in front of a large projection screen showing Trump’s speech, blocking it from view. That, of course, didn’t make the defeat any less crushing.

About an hour later, Haley took the stage and said: “What I saw today was South Carolina’s frustration with our country’s direction. I’ve seen that same frustration nationwide.”

“I don’t believe Donald Trump can beat Joe Biden,” Haley said, later adding: “I said earlier this week that no matter what happens in South Carolina, I would continue to run. I’m a woman of my word.”

She said she plans to head to Michigan for its primary on Tuesday — the last major contest before Super Tuesday. Still, she faces questions about where she might be able to win a contest or be competitive.

Trump and Biden are already behaving like they expect to face off in November.

Trump and his allies argue Biden has made the U.S. weaker and point to the chaotic withdrawal from Afghanistan and Russia’s decision to launch a full-scale invasion of Ukraine.
